I agree a bolt would look bulky but I used a stud not a bolt.
But shortly after I mounted mine up someone stole it so I only had mine for like 2 weeks. BC had hers on for a couple months and never used a bolt of any type as she had skateboard wheels for sliders at the time which gave enough friction to stop any slipping of the mount.
But after a while we both agreed that under the tail just looked better so we went back to that.
