I'm just curious if this wire belongs here or should be attached to the battery I had to reinstall all these s parts and only had a few photos off Google to go by. This wore just seems slightly out of place. Bike starts and runs great regardless but I'd like to know. If anyone can go out and take a look for me feedback is awesome thanks

K so I can't seem to post any photos no idea how this forum is confusing but where the neg battery cable grounds should another wire be grounded there as well?

Ok, did a search on ground wire and someone posted this picture.
Grounding
I do not like the way the engine is grounded by going through layer(s) of bolted together metal, so I think this picture came from the ground wire mod which I think bolts an extra ground wire more directly to the motor.

So I'll be safe to move that wire to the battery bolt on negative side from the looks of that photo. I just don't want to fry anything electrical is all

Looks like the fatter wire is a battery wire? If so then where does the other end of the thinner wire terminate? Hopefully it is connected to some place that will ground the engine? If so then this might be a cleaner way of doing the ground wire mod, which I did by terminating the thinner wire on the battery on one end, and a Coil mounting bolt on the other end.

So basically does this look acceptable I mean it runs good. Seems if it wasn't grounded it wouldn't start

I would Check to see where everything is connected before changing anything. Electrical connections is where sometimes people get creative rigging stuff up. I would reverse engineer any unknown wires before moving, changing, reconnecting etc.... PIA right? better than frying stuff for sure.

Yea and if bike is running great now? Should I leave it alone. Cause bear in mind I placed it there after putting s tail on bike again

Yea, I would leave it alone or completely reverse engineer it. All or nothing sort of thing. Either do it completely right or nothing at all. That way in the future you can say, who is the mofo that installed that? Let me get this thing nailed down. Instead of trying something half arsed and it FFFF'd up, kind of like some dealerships when they charge you for their mistakes. Not all dealerships, just to clarify, some are excellent & some not.

Wow embedded in the harness, definitely a PIA to reverse engineer. The fat black is a battery cable right? Leave it alone until you need to find it or someone who knows what it is? If it is a properly done ground wire Mod, looks like it is a cleaner way of connecting it to the battery. I might do this the next time I change my battery, 1/3 less connections on the battery right.

Yea and that's what it is that's battery terminal wire and I just spoke with the original owner he said its just a ground so it looks good that way. And while I was down in the garage I ran it underneath all the other wires instead of over the top so now its even cleaner and still fires up and runs like its being chased
