Harley Davidson WTF???

What I meant is that they all have the same name and ran by the same people, but 2 out of the 4 are the only ones who can order Buell parts and the other can only look up the parts but only order blast parts because they have riders edge blasts like all Harley dealers. Really, if you have a blast you don't have to worry about anything, any dealer should be able to get parts.

^^ I understand where you're coming from. My reply was kind of sarcastic so I do apologize. I was only meaning there was no explaining HD and the way they run things. Thats what I meant to come out as sarcasm.
You know?

Like trying to figure out what makes a woman happy....one may never know.

HD WTF?
like why ask why :D
anyway sorry if I came off as the ******* that I am.

Safe journeys

i have had the same problem every time i need something. after they priced me $700 for tires i just buy everything online and do it myself. will never go back if i can help it

Just call ahead of time and give them the part number. Ive been through this alot. There are 3 dealerships within an hour from me and this usually works between the 3 of them.

Its seemsjust about everyone wants to grype about obsolesense, etc. Go try to but something for say an '02 GSXR600....chances are they WON'T have it...and yes....parts are already "NO LONGER AVAILABLE" for them too. I know....SOME H/D dealers suck....they never wanted the Buell in their showrooms to begin with...but it is what it is...let's not make it WORSE than it is!! THAT is NOT what I believe this forum is about...let's stick together as a "team" and help each other find the GOOD ones and help each other get what he / she needs and move on. Yes...perhaps SOMEDAY parts will be all...let's hope Erik and guys like Al at ASB will continue to support us and perhaps influence some "aftermarket" manufactuers to build us some pieces?!! Let's enjoy the ride...while we can! (Hey....they STILL make parts for 40's and 50's Triumph's and BSA's! We CAN hope?!).

My local dealer does what they can for me. Sometimes I think I know more about my x1 than they do, but they are friendly and as helpful as they can be.

They might crack wise after I leave but who cares.

Plenty of sources and places to find parts. If I cant find a part, which is rare, I look at it as a challenge. Either retrofit something or design something. Hell... even if I can find a part sometimes its more fun to make something better than OE!

Think outside the box.

Hi Lesley!! No...I'm not gryping, really! I'd just like us to all work together!! Perhaps I was a tad harsh, but....! I meant well....really I did!

NwRider...nice reply. That's the kind of thinking that ANY motorsports hobby is about!!

I knew what you meant. I was being a smartass. Sorry about that. Your points are valid [up]

LightningMike: I understand that we have resources, like Al at ASB. I have the pleasure of living only 30 mins away from him, but for others, Vista, CA or St. Paul MN are not within sight and help over the phone or email is still just over the phone or email. I think the point of this thread is that it is hard to find somewhere that has more knowledgeable staff that can help with situations where the forums cannot. Having a face-to-face with someone who may be more familiar to the bikes is invaluable, not to say that this forum or the help that can be gained from it is not :D , but I will admit that we are not necessarily stranded, just perched above the rest [cool]
