Have a friend in need of HELP!!!

He has a 2004 XB12R and had put some PIAA bulbs stock wattage and they blew in about a hour. Now he having a hard time getting it to start, and it set check engine light. Said it was sitting idling and died. He had the battery tested and its good. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Check the fuses? That happened to me once before when changing the headlights and turn signals, but it was nothing more than a blown fuse. If not, you'll have to trace it back through the circuit

Maybe stator/ Voltage regulator... the lights could be a coincidence...did they blow, or just not turn on?

Best thing to do would be to check what code is being thrown with the CEL.

How do you check the CEL on a Buell???

Thanks guys I'll look into it , my buddy is just mad and was talking bout just getting rid of it . Hate to see him bail on the bike, he has alot of $ in it.
