hawk exhaust and k&n...need to remap?

well...i was looking at my new xb12r and noticed the exhaust was different from the stock photos....to my surpise i have a hawk exhaust....the bike also has a gutted airbox cover and k&n filter....too cold to really ride....so i cant tell, but do i need to remap the FI? if i do, how the heck is it done! lol........thanks
 
you do need to remap. there is a tutorial on here under the diy section as a sticky. you can find usb/bluetooth adapters on ebay.
 
If you get ahold of randy he will give you a custom map for the 12. I have it but the laptop it's on is in florida.
 
yeah...i supposed i shoudl! lol........i was gonna def take it out first to see if it ran right....
 
Having access to the ECM is still a good thing to have. ECMSPY is still an excellent tool to have in your tool box. Once you download the program and get the cable you can verify your maps are stock, race, or custom by simply comparing them the one in your bike currently.
 
But Ihave also seen where the po "tuned" it and they had just fine in and blindly changed values
 
would it be worth to get the race ecm? or just remap the stock one? i can get a race one discounted...

Are you sure its a custom map and not just the buell race map? If it is custom I'd be interested in looking at it.

is this a hawk?...the ecm has nothing on it....or is it stock? can someone post a link to the map i need and the program to install it? ill pick up a cable....
