Hawk Performance 1125 Mufflers!!

Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

If you want to hear sound clips, search YouTube for "Hawk Performance Muffler".

You seem to be capable of typing to the BB, so why not do a google / youtube search.

I think the point of his statement was, even searching youtube for "Hawk Performance Muffler" it only comes up with 33 results and not one is for the 1125.
Search for Hawk 1125, 1125R, muffler or anything else, it shows NOTHING for the 1125.

Got a direct link?

Sorry easttroy none found buddy. Lots of xb's which I have heard for several years but no 1125's. Post it up if you found one!

i think no one has bought one yet cuz everyone is waiting for some one to buy one and post sound clips

Hey Guys
I am a new proud owner of a 2008 1125R Buell this fall and I love it. I have always had cruizes in the past and glad I made the switch.

I am wanting to add a "Hawk Performance Muffler" from Randy and was wanting to make sure that all I need to do is buy the "EBR ECM" with the muffler (the shorter race version one).

And I want to put a K&N air filter on at the same time. And as I understand from some of the reading above with the "EBR ECM" all I will have to do is Plug and Play, Right??

I will not need to re-map the bike?

Plug & play yes, then you need to do a tps reset. Then post sound clips of the Hawk Performance Muffler to this thread.

Ok thanks.

I will have a lot of dumb question still very new to the street bikes.

Now what is a TPS reset and how do you do it?

Also will there be anything else I need to do, will the bike show any codes in the ECM with the fuel system, throttle system, O2 sensors, or anything else.

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for the help.

Yes I will get some sound clips.

It might have some codes show up right after the EBR unit is installed but will go away after several key cycles.

TPS reset

1. Turn on the key.
2. Set the kill switch to the run position.
3. Don’t start the engine. Rotate the throttle from fully closed (gently forced closed) to fully
open (gently held open), and then back again to closed (gently forced closed).
4. Repeat 3 times. Hold each position (fully open, fully closed) for 1 full second.
5. Turn the key off and on.

I have also heard Randy Hawkins will tune your stock ECM to your re-designed exhaust if you send it to him. I am about to do this before spring. Hope he does it for free or a minimal charge. Anybody have experience with this?

I don't think he will do a 1125 ECM. I can't speak for Randy but I think on a 1125 he recommends the EBR unit. XB's his friend will program for u if I remember correctly.

Thanks guys.

You have been a great help. I am sending Randy my exhaust next week, and looking forward to getting it back.

Thanks for the TPS reset instructions Red93stang I owe ya one.

Are you sending it in without hearing what it will sound like? I know Randy does great work but cannot bring myself to do it without first hearing some clips.

Also, I had heard along time ago from Randy that he was going to send an XB and an 1125 pipe in to EBR once he got it done. Not sure if that ever happened but you could ask the guys at EBR if they ever got one and tuned an ECM to it.

Welcome, good luck and post pics and clips as soon as you can.

Yeah I am going to do it. On his website http://home.windstream.net/hawk63/ you can hear the XB sound clip of one idling and I like it, and after visiting with Randy on the phone, he said it is not quite as loud as the XB but it has a real deep throaty rumble to it but he said the performance you get is tremendous. He also said the he has a pipe at EBR and to call them they should be about done tunning a ECM to it. I will do some checking and get back to you all on that.

Also do you know anything about that "low speed servo" which I believe doesn't allow you to full throttel at low rpms. Randy said if you take that off replace it with a resister so your computer doesn't show a "check engine light" you will be able to have full throttle at low rpm's and low speeds, also lose about two pounds of weight for you track guys. Randy explained it to me like you would have instant throttle response and extreme take off power as long as you can keep the front tire on the ground.

Dont worry about it if you are going to buy the EBR ECM. They program it out so you dont have to worry about it. The only thing it may help is throttle feel, I truely did notice a difference when I did mine except it did try and throw me off the bike at 3500 and in third gear.
