I'm hoping it performs well, I'm nervous about not having the exhaust valve. I tried a gutted exhaust, and it had no power until 6k. Completely useless to me.

If it's a similar powerband to stock, I'll be thrilled.

From what I hear, Drummer, Hawk, and Special Ops sound similar. All exhausts sound the same to me on youtube, so maybe. I know my gutted exhaust sounded like stock + 10% volume. Hopefully the Hawk finds a way to fix my lawnmower sound.

My hawk sounds great with the 3" outlet. Personally I can't say I feel more power but I don't feel less. I just got a new exhaust for more sound not power.

Took my son's 12s for small ride yesterday with his new Hawk and Big Power increaseFront end comes up hard in first hit second and found my self riding a nice wheelie, which it didnt do before exhaust.[up]n To Randy!

Well I've only had my bike out once since I installed my exhaust and it was like 35 degrees out so I wasn't pushing too hard.

Just received & installed mine last weekend and first off the sound IMO is the way the Buell should sound, response and pull were a sold plus from stock! And to top it off Randy Hawkins is an unbelivably nice guy, thats the type of person I like to support! Reason I went with Hawk was 1. reading on this site and the gains. 2. somewhat stock appearance. 3. not overly loud just enough to throw a smile on the face when its starts and runs!

If you really want the Hawk to perform as it should get the EBR ECM for it. Put it on my 12Ss and what a difference. All decel poping is gone and the bike pulls like a freight train.

Can you guys help me read this Dyno chart from Hawks website? I have read thread after thread but the majority just talks about how great the exhaust sounds. I was really hoping to see more numbers. In this chart (if the curved, lighter line is stock) it looks like Hp gain starts at about 5200 rpm but every thing under that is quiet a bit less in hp and torgue. Please correct me if I'm looking at this wrong. Thanks.

No pipe is going to be a miracle and give you like 10 hp or something. What are you looking for?

Right now my bike is bone stock, other than I have my exhaust actuator turned off and open. I get a really nice sound this way but seemed to have lost a little mid range. I would love a duel outlet Hawk exsuast but not if my only gains were at 5200 rpm and up. (If) I'm seeing this right, it looks like you actually lose performance for low and mid range. I'm looking to get a better sound but maintain or gain power through all ranges.

Just had a better look at this. I believe that the flatter curve is torque and the the other is HP. 3 runs with no stock baseline. A stock baseline would really tell the tale but that's not there unfortunately. In this case, you can only compare the raw numbers to the numbers originally claimed by Buell (which is subjective at best). That being said, I love my Hawk and the butt dyno says it's doing pretty well! :D

Ahh! Yup, Thats makes sense. ..and with Buell numbers I would imagine thier numbers would be engine output rather than RW Horsepower.

I loved my Hawk the entire time I had it on and Randy is a fast working, knowledgeable, and just plain great guy. I can’t say enough good things about him. The muffler … it has great power and sound. I ended up getting a really good deal on used Drummer SS and have that on now, but since everyone in my family has commented that now my bike is quieter I'm thinking about not selling the Hawk. The only down side to the modified stock mufflers is that they are still based on crap metal that has to be repainted regularly or ceramic coated. I might still go bright silver ceramic on the Hawk and then it would sound great and look pretty too. We'll see.

I've been sort of worried about the loudness of my Hawk until yesterday while out riding and a cop pulled next to me at a traffic light and gave me a thumbs up and said my bike sounded awesome ! WHEW, got nervous at first ! [up]
