Are the black pieces of plastic around the headlights on a firebolt glued on? double sided tape? I need to remove mine but don't want to cause damage. Thinking a heat gun would do. I tried prying hard but seems like they are not just snapped in place.

Thanks.

two pieces of double sided tape, one vertical and one horizontal about 1" in length.... bezels are fragile, be very careful removing them or they will snap at the thinner areas.

Does anyone know where one could get some replacement headlight bezels? I want to remove and paint mine as they look pretty faded. Painting or installing new ones would really improve the look. I've also seen headlight bezels with the carbon fiber look although in my many Google searches I've never seen anyone selling them.

Took me forever to find them, 2nd link has the CF bezels for sale. Google the part numbers for the stock bezels and get them from surdyke or one of the many Buell supporting dealerships.

I just took my fairing off and taped around them and sprayed them with satin finish black spray paint(rattle can paint). They look brand new! Remember prep is everything when painting so clean them real good before spraying. Taping them was a bit of a chore but well worth it and no chance of breaking them. The original black plastic turns gray with age.

Thanks. I need to remove for more clearance for my hella headlights.

I'm sure you could've found better solutions for lighting your garage..........

Thanks for the info Sewerman, you just inspired me to repaint them while installed in the fairing. I think a nice shiny coat of black will make them POP!

You know, now that you say it, my shop doesn't have lights, so this is a good fix! It just jumped up on my priority list!
