On my way home from the movies other night my headlights started cutting in and out along with high beam indicator on dash. I have the mod with both lamps on when on high and both were cutting out. I switched to low beam only and it was cutting out as well.
Any ideas on what it could be?

I did the same mod and my head lights were acting like they had a short! And it kinda sounds like you are having the same problems! Apparently I totally screwed up the wire harness. I ended up just replacing the harness and it fixed the connection problem! But I have noticed that the high beam light on my dash is acting a little funnie! Sometimes it's on others it's not! But hey as long as the lights stay in at night I'm ok! If you find out anything about the dash light let me know!

remove flyscreen and check your work. main plug feeds headlight assembly plug. wires as follows:
white-high beam
yellow-low beam
orange-12 volt constant power
black with tracer-ground
if you placed a jumper wire from the yello to orange your low beam will remain on at all times. that is correct jumper wire procedure. check the wiring and check your work. something is amiss.

Had the same problem with my S. Check the ground on the lower triple. There's a wire there fastened with a T27 that'll pull out from the eye grommet. Even though it looks like its still connected, give it a wiggle and watch the headlamp to see if it shorts out. With mine you could even rock the steering back and forth and it would short out the lamps. Hope this helps.

It ended up being a loose wire harness. I ziptied it to the frame and all set no more blinking.
