ok i got it fixed. heres what happened. the connector in the pic above would not come apart and i had figured out that the ground wire in it was bad. so what i did was just cut the ground on both sides of the connector and splice the wire together. and it works. also it blew both light bulbs. so theres $40 bucks. ugh. only had one spare. maybe its just time for and HID kit. but anyways thanks for the people who gave suggestions. especially Rays.

If you depress the latch (bottom left in your photo) the plug section should be able to be removed from the socket section. If you have overheating issues with the ground pin (that is what it sounds like from you measuring response), the ground pins might be quite difficult to get apart. If you 'rock ' the two sections with 'moderate' sideways force as you also pull (and keep the latch depressed). you should be able to work these apart.

If you have a look in the downloadable manual from this site there are very detailed descriptions of how the pins and sockets are fitted to the various type of connectors. This plug (connector 38) is listed as an AMP type (see page B-14) and the connector information starts on page B1.

You could prove the ground issue by temporarily bypassing the earth connection in this plug and socket - connect a wire from the battery negative to where the ground wire is connected to the headlight assembly and the headlight should come on if this is your only issue.

i had the same problem with my 04 firebolt and it turn out that the plug was fried. had to replace the whole thing and haven't had a problem since then. sounds like if you can't get it part it may be melted together. mine i was able to see it melted.

yea only the ground was bad inside it though. so i just by passed the plug. not the best but it works. hey i mean what are the fuses for ya kno
