Yesterday I visited the biggest motorcycle trade show in Finland. Went to H-D department to take some photos, and ended up talking with one dude from local importer/dealer.

When talking about Sportsters and Buells, this guy tells me about a training trip they made to MoCo two years before Buell was discontinued. The message from MoCo was, already back then, to "forget Buells and concentrate on HDs"... No wonder Buells were almost non-existent in dealer rooms during the last years!

I was in disgust [mad]

Edit: What a topic to celebrate my 100th post...

The 1125R was doing well and the CR had just been released. He was blowing smoke. IMO
Couldn't disagree more

the 1125R NEVER did well....they made less than 6,000 of them their entire run!
Unfortunate but true. They could have done so much better if HD put the proper resources and vision behind Buell like it was meant to be when first acquired. After the CEO who bought Buell left the vision changed and we know what went wrong there.

If you add the numbers of R's and CR's built during a total of three production years, and a very small workforce, I believe they were doing well. I could be way off. It wouldn't be the first time.....lol
