Been very warm here last week or so. I am not complaining, great riding weather! One issue is the heat from the engine. I find myself standing up much more than I would like to cool off the nether region. I have recently added some heat shielding to under the seat which does help(sucks getting the seat on). Am I just being a baby or what?

Yes, pretty much lol. Come ride 10 hour days here in South Texas during summer. Not highway speed but working the bike in traffic. Its amazing how far the scrotum stretches when hot to try and cool the boys. Dismount and they counter swing as you walk, bouncing off the knees. Do you have the RSS scoop?

LOL!! Cant compete with that!

I do not have the RSS scoop.

Does it make a noticble difference? Do you keep the left hand scoop as well?

No you take off the left scoop when you put on the right scoop

The other day, in 100 degree heat, I was feeling heat on my left quad/butt cheek when sitting at stoplights. I actually didn't have as much of a problem from the right side even without the comfort kit, but I do have a right side scoop.

I never understood my right leg is cooler after a RSS install, it doesn't cool the header....

I've reduced it but never defeated it. Right side scoop and heat shield. I have the header wrap on only under the heat shield. The wrap messes up the headers though. Rust and weird discoloration.

As stated above by others, these are hot bikes. If you want to ride an XB you need to deal with some discomfort.

Consider the heat a form of free birth control. No swimmers are surviving that. I can hear my junk sizzling in traffic here in Vegas. And I always crave bacon when I get home for some reason.
