I think this winter I'm going to get heated gear. I think being more comfortable and being able to ride longer will help me out a lot this winter as my XB is my main commuter bike. Sedici just came out with their "HotWired" brand plug in gear. Cycle gear is having a deal and I think I may pick up just the jacket liner and gloves. I usually wear thermals, kevlar jeans, and overpants and my legs never got cold last year (mainly hands and body). My question is has anyone ran heated gear on the XB charging system and how did it do? Anyone run heated gear and just have the jacket and gloves? I'm thinking I shouldn't need the pants too how do you guys fair with just the jacket and gloves?

plenty of juice for a full heated suit. I was fine without the pants, but sub-zero temps kinda suck without them.

I shouldn't see sub-zero very often in NC but it does get close. I think the coldest I rode last year was about 30 degrees F. I do have some night classes so I will be riding home from school at 930 a few nights a week which is why I'm thinking of pulling the plug and picking some up. Next semester I start a different college to go after my bachelors so I see some early mornings in my future starting in Jan.

vance580, I'm in the same situation. I want to ride longer into the winter this year. I was looking at the H-D heated gloves, but the price is the same as those Sedici HotWired gloves except the HotWired come with the controller. Seems like the way to go, but I'd like to see some reviews on them (I try to avoid being the first adopter).

That's what I've been finding. The product line is completely new so I've only found one review and cycle gear has exclusive rights so they are the only ones carrying it. I went yesterday and my local one had just gotten them that day as in they were still in the box when I was looking at them. I haven't found anything cheaper for a set of gloves, jacket liner and controller so I think I will be getting them. Going to find out how the warranty is on them and since it is a little chilly here now I'll take them out for a few night rides and see how they do and decide whether I'll keep them or take them back. I may end up being the first adopter but I was one of the first to get some of their Freeze-out gear last year and have no complaints about it so hopefully these won't disappoint. I'll post up if I end up picking them up and give you a review.

Somebody on here, a while back, had a set of "heated-grips" installed on their uly or something. Heated gloves would be a warmer option. grips get hot, but if u have insulated gloves on, the heat doesnt penetrate good enough. I would scout for some battery-operated ones. No wires, plugs in the way. If u can route the wires good enough for the gloves it would be a latter choice. imo

The gloves are pretty nice. I have not had cold hands at all. I've done 80 down the freeway in 37 degree weather with the gloves on med and they were very warm. The jacket liner works very good as well but has to be a bottom layer to be effective so I wear it just above a t-shirt. Definitely lets me ride longer and later into the night. My legs get a little cold since now my body is a lot warmer my legs feel it more but it hasn't been that bad.

Cool. Glad they weren't duds. I just found a new (old stock) pair of Gerbings classics for a great price, so I pulled the trigger. I can't wait 'cause there's been some cold mornings around here and I reached my breaking point.

According to the Cycle Gear guys which I know pretty well since I'm up there all the time. Sedici's heated stuff had all the internals and wiring are outsourced to Gerber and they just do the actual garment and branding. So according to them it's pretty much Gerber with Sedici tags on it. Not sure how true this is but I don't feel any hot spots like what usually happens with first gen heated stuff.
