Who makes a good youth lid and jacket?

I think my son is ready to go for more rides in the yard at my dads but I want to get him some gear before we make a habit of it.
and he would be the most exited kid if he got his own helmet and jacket like papi for his birthday/x-mas

My dad took these a few months back when we were visiting him and I forgot to share

Meet Jack :D
he LOVES motorcycles
but I'm not comfortable taking him out on the buell yet, on the kawi I can pinch his legs to the gas tank with my legs and he cant move or fall off even if he were to try unless I let him.
we kept it under 5MPH in the grass, I never even got the clutch all the way out LOL

Haha, saved me from having to link to my post!

I'm really happy with the HJC youth cs-y helmet. Got it through cyclegear. Construction and fit is really good. Got her a large/xl, their sizing chart was right on with her head measurement

The boots (O'Neal Element off road) got 2 sizes bigger than her street shoe size. They still fit very snug, but there is room to grow so they won't be too small next year.

Gloves (Fox bomber youth gloves) I got a little large for the same reason, protection is good but there is room to grow.

The jacket was the hardest part...I looked all over the place for something. It had to have armor in elbows, shoulders, and back. Really wanted mesh since it can get quite hot in Vegas and I didn't want her to over heat. I did find a mesh option that fit my needs out of Austrailia, but it was pretty expensive, and shipping was really pricey, too. There were a couple of non mesh options, one was the Jett by Tour Master which even the small was too big, the other was an eBay touring type one that looked like it would be way too hot. Ended up finding the off road armor (O'Neal Underdog Body Armor)...fit all my needs and was only about $90. Got her a size medium, she weighs about 53lbs and it fits her well. The mesh has lots of stretch, so keeps the armor in place even on her tiny arms.

Hope that helps, if you have any questions just let me know and I'll answer whatever I can. My daughter loves going on rides with me...and was ecstatic when she got her own gear! I bet your son would feel the same.[up]

sweet thanks for the info

my son wont see the tarmac any time soon (he is only about to turn 3) but even around the yard I want to get him started right.
too bad there isn't a cheaper jacket option out there, I have seen that RS taichi has some textile youth jackets available too for only $100 and has "armored" foam in elbows shoulders and back, but I will be looking at HJC tonight for a lid.
he already has some dirt bike gloves that I found on clearance at my local shop, fox brand I think. I was contemplating getting him some dirt bike armor (roost elbow shin etc) for while we ride in the yard because not much street gear exists for his size (36 lbs or so last time we had a check up) he is very big for his age. but I was afraid that the RS jacket may still be too big for him.

Delta, Scorpion makes one for kids called the EXO400Y.It has a air pump system for a custom fit.Sorry I can,t tell you more, only seen a add for them.

Not sure how great the brand is but ZOX Savo Jr. is what my buddy uses for his kid. One good part is the liners are removable so you can get a liner for different sizes as he grows.

JP Cycles is where he got it.

thanks for all the info guys, I'm going to order him a scorpion lid, the pump up cheeks should be a big help in getting him a proper fit as he gets a bit bigger and his face thins out.
