I custom paint helmets...if anyone is interested. PM me if interested. Winter is here and it is a great time to get your lid done....for you and me!

I have always wanted a helmet with a face on it

lower jaw as chin bar and upper teeth just above the eye port

something you can do?

PM me some estimates if you would please

I went with a GMax GM68 for the venting and the Led in the back for visability. I was going to have a Evil looking Pegasus airbrushed on it, but the prices started to get ridiculous with primer/clear coat, etc. So Put the money toward my ride instead and got a little creative with Black reflective vinyl, an exacto knife, an accent from Autozone and my St.Christopher Visor clip from my Jeep.

When it's too warm out for a full face, I just sport a CF Polo Shorty /With Stars and Stripes.

love your gmax helmet love how different it is, leds in the back.. awesome!!! very affordable and got great reviews.. love it.. it looks awesome!!!!

Thanks Dr., With most of my gear in black and a black bike I had to do something to be seen. The LED's seemed like a natural choice. The vinyl helps & DOT tape I put on the vest too...Of course in NYC, I don't know if it means people can see you to avoid you or don't have to strain as hard to aim for you.

I just got a dual shield for the helmet. Full Clear Fog Proof Underneath and a half flip down Tint for those sun up /sun down rides. I should probably update the pics...

Bell star contra

this is a nice ass lid, great airflow and superior aerodynamics. not that quiet though.

but I still miss my Shark :(

Love that lid, Delta. Especially the profile shape of the back. Kind of sinister looking. How is it for visability. I would imaging the spun leafed areas reflect a lot of light... as do the silver parts, if the are pearlescent?

yea visibility is good with it both outwards (the eye port is not at wide as the new shoei lids though) and making me more visible with its silver areas, but no pearlecent on this one, just my shoei and Sarah's scorpion

and I decided to take my own pictures too :)
in order of newest to oldest

that RSD one is sick!

Thanks, I was leaning towards the helmet you style your art after but the price was simply to high as the RSD Helmets are on sale and the Cerwinskie's aren't (still $600, compared to the RSD for $200, even though it is the same helmet just different graphic).

Here is the one I thought of.

Styled after this:

That Cerwinskie carbon looks amazing, it's the same graphic but instead of black it's clear revealing the carbon fiber weave of the helmet.

Bell had some teething issues with the star line, mine is 1 size off and has a raised edge of EPS that hasn't worn down all the way yet and it gives me a headache. The ridge it right in line with the corner of your eye if you were to draw a line straight back across the top of your head. This was further Exentuated with a seam from the cheek pad.
These are common complaints with the first gen lids.

The second gen (to include X's C-note) solved 99% of the complaints and changed the headshape to in intermediate oval from whatever they had before. The sizing was correctly done this time too. They fixed the EPS pressure points as well as the cheekpad seam but apparently still had some issues with the speaker cavities (if you dont use speakers you will never know) and fixed it for the third, but it was released just as snell released new requirements for 2010 so the second gen is still snell 2005

The third gen should be flawless and was necessary to update to the new snell rating anyway, I havent seen any new specs or reviews for the new star but to accommodate the new snell 2010 it will most likely be a but heavier than it's previous incarnations.

Seen that too but at the same time it is $649, another $50[smirk]

Here is the Carbon

see now that's a pantie dropper right there!
if that lid cant get you women I don't know what will :D

oh yea; X, your lid should have a magnetic catch for the end of the strap too! unless that was just for the third gen lids
let us know but I am betting it is bad ass, no more snaps of buckles to keep the end of the strap from flopping around.

and mine has square D rings that are a little difficult, I think I remember reading that they went to a more traditional D-ring latter on but can you confirm or falsify that for me when yours arrives?
I'm not sure what generation if any got that update.

Mine wont have the magnet since the RSD is actually a 2009 model year lid not a 2010 when they implemented the magnetic snap. Not to worried as I always tuck my strap up under my ear anyway since I hate having the hoop under my chin. I wish it had the quick disconnect like my Osbe...

Need to make room for one more helmet in the closet until my bike is fixed as I looked out in the garage before I headed out to work and boom there it was, had to cut it open and take a peek before I left for work.

Helmet is simply awesome! Fits like a dream, feels like a quality helmet (unlike some other pricey helmets... Icon, cough cough), and has a ton of function-able qualities.
