Well....the short of it is this...Less G-Forces to the brain equals less chance of injury, the numbers given are averages from flat impact and round impact as well. Now tell me if more expensive helmets are actually safer or not...Granted, creature comfort is what the price tag is for I would guess...

Anyone have some input on the ZR1 helmet brand?

Also, LeFox, do you know if a helmet that meets DOT and SNELL standards would meet the european standards as well? I don't want to buy a helmet now that I can't use in 6-7 months when I get to Germany...

Hey FIDOSOL, this is some informative info. I would have never thought that some of the cheaper helmets had a higher impact number. Where did you get this info? I would like to find out about the Shoei RF-1000. I'm in the market for a new helmet right now.

Those are the only ones that were tested as far as I know but the entire article can be found here.
The article is long but very informative.

I've read in a few other online forums that the ZR1's fit like a SHOEI but I really have no idea myself...

nope, and i don't think alot of cops know either...
i ride with 2 helmets, 1 of which is a simpson which isn't e-marked, only dot...never had a cop look at it.

and i don't think being in germany due to 'work' will get you a fine when riding with a dot approved helmet.

They probably for the most part don't care. It's not their head, they're probably more concerned with the reason they've got you stopped anyways.

Well just so ya know, MP's on post don't have to have probable cause or anything like that to stop you...it pretty much goes like this, ooh shiny....(siren noises)....."Do YOU know why I stopped YOU?"...Uhh, you think I'm pretty?
I've been stopped 3 times on post on my bike and they didn't even have a reason, everybody knows I show out off post, but I don't do it on post because I can't afford the extra attention.

So here are a few pics of my new helmet, they'd be better but I took em' with my cell phone. The new helmet is quieter and I haven't been hit in the face with anything since I got it.
