Helmet speakers

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

I just did 10 days straight with the Sena20s and almost have it figured out:upset: 2 people on comms and streaming music, GPS whatever seems simple and works very well. Add a third and it all goes to crap:(

I am very impressed that a Buell with a Drummer at 80MPH can have a normal phone call. and voice commands still work as well, But Siri can't understand me?

Its loud enough even with earplugs in, control buttons are easy to find with gloves on, and the battery life is great!

I'll keep updating here about my new favorite toy:)

Yea, keep the info coming. I've had the 20S for a while and for the most part like it. Little glitches here and there. Fuzzy Bluetooth music sometimes, cured by a reboot. Otherwise good.
I'm headed 500 miles up into Ontario on Saturday. If you don't mind I'll post my experience with the 20S on your thread. My buddy just bought a 20S and we're gonna use them for our trip.

Does anyone have any experience with the Sena SMH10R (the slim low profile one)? I am looking at getting a Bluetooth headset and like the slim design. Mainly would be used for music and phone calls. Thanks.

I'll be trying out the Sena 10c tonight, girlfriend is getting back into riding, and doesn't always understand my sign language going down the road...

I just recently purchased the 10R, which is an updated version of the SMH10R, and i like it. It has the same speakers that come with the 20S and from what I've read on the interwebs, sounds much better than the older SMH10R. I got the version without the handlebar remote for around $210 (I think). I have only used it to listen to music and it works well for that, though I'm going to spend some time this weekend trying to find a good EQ app to tweak the sound a bit.

You will find the intercom feature to be a source of irritation. No way to disable it completely on Sena10's (let me know if this has changed with the 20's and I will buy one) If your jacket collar is too high or sudden movement of the Helmet you might activate the intercom and have to wait a moment for your tunes to pick back up.

I haven't had the intercom problem you've described.

Ok, sorry to revive an ancient thread but I've searched and this is the only one pertaining to the 20s that I can find. I love the unit itself but would LOVE to get a little more sound quality out of it. I've researched various other brands of speaker upgrades but none seem to fit the bill. My question is this... with the 20s we have a seperate plug-in for earbuds, theoretically couldn't I dismantle a set of quality earphones, mount the speakers in the helmet and plug the jack in the earbud plug-in? Just thinking out loud here and there's nothing on the interweb to support my theory so I'm coming to you guys. Thanks!

You can absolutely do that. It's been done before, maybe search Reddit r/motorcycles for a related thread.

Not sure, just figured I'd find more on the interweb about it if it was something that worked. I can't be the only one that wants more sound quality...
