I can't find any recent threads on quality helmet speakers on here.
Who is using what? Do they sound nice? Are they loud enough?
I'd like comms too, maybe... But Bluetooth would be nice if the battery life is good.

What are you using that you are happy with?

About two years ago I bought some Uclear HD helmet speakers at cycle gear for about $20. They were on sale so I figured I'd give them a shot. I wear ear plugs EVERYTIME I ride and these speakers don't have to be cranked all the way up for me to hear them with ear plugs in. The music/sound is good enough for me considering I'm wearing ear plugs. I use to wear in ear ear buds but I feel that set up was damaging my hearing. I feel the set up with the helmet speakers and earplugs is much easier on my hearing.
Only downside with my set up is the speakers are corded.
Check out cycle gear. I know they're real good about standing behind their products and giving full refunds if customers aren't happy.
Right now they're selling a Bluetooth, audio only, set up for $99.

You may want to look at the Syphon Soundwrap . Bluetooth with around an 12 hour battery life with a price tag of $199. The speakers do not have earbuds but a flat band that velcros inside your helmet.

I have a Bilt Bluetooth helmet speakers are really good... The Mic is even better people can't even tell I'm riding at 70 with a D&D exhaust. The Bluetooth and helmet to helmet is flawless and price was amazing. Not to mention I came from a very expensive Oneil Tirade helmet that was just plane trash had to turn my bike off to talk and speakers sounded blown.....

Cooter, I've been using the Sena 20S for a couple months now. I used it on my XC trip. It's a bit spendy but I'm happy with it. It has radio, Bluetooth for music, cell phone and GPS. I can link up comm for up to 8 riders. I can use Siri on it to make phone calls. I can use voice commands to change radio stations, go to next or previous songs on my iPhone. Sound quality is good even with ear plugs. The volume of music automatically lowers when receiving phone calls or GPS voice directions. Cycle gear installed mine for free. Ask if they install before buying. I use mine with a Shoei Qwest.

After owning both the smh10 and 20s, I find the smh10 easier to use... The phone answering is much easier than on the 20s, and having fewer buttons makes using it easier. The 20s does have some nicer features though, so I'm torn.

Cooter, looks like you have a lot of good options, I personally don't use any, I have a GPS and phone mount on My FLHX and sometimes find all that stuff is distracting to riding, JMO.

Sena 20s here as well, excellent noise cancellation, audio is crisp and clear. Even with my exhaust on every bike I have, it's more than enough, I usually run at 1/2 volume or maybe a little more if I'm really jamming. Wife can't tell what I'm doing while riding at speed until I'm up over 90 mph.

All great suggestions guys, thank you!

It's for the Los Angeles to Pikes Peak ride so nav, comms, and good tunes are a must. We won't be doing any highway if possible:)
Just did a 12 hour test ride with nothing but hairpins and mountain passes, 400 miles of EPIC riding!!

I'm looking at both the Sena's, and if the nicer one can be heard over Deans pipe that's perfect!

let me know how it works out. Earbuds won't even make it over mine.

pics brother, pics

I use the sena 20s with 30 decibal custom ear plugs in (for wind noise). With the volume turned all the way up, I hear it nicely through the plugs and no wind noise to bother me.

Cooter, just a thought, consider getting a Ram X-Grip to hold your phone. I found it very useful while displaying the GPS map, also, you'll hear in your headset when you get emails and text messages. You can glance down and see if it's important enough to pull over and respond to the message.
On Ulys you can also charge it while on the fly since the electrical plug is right there and running a wire to it is a snap.

Thanks jl551c. The bike came with that mount already:)
I got the Sena20s tonight and after an easy install I started to learn the myriad of functions. Wow. There's a lot.

I've already downloaded the app, and got the Bluetooth connected, and got it linked with the other 2 riders.

I can't turn down the voice overlay and it's LOUD.

and when my music is playing, I get disconnected from the comms.

I'll search more in the morning. Only had a little time to mess with it

Did you download the latest upgrades on the Sena website? Also, I had a problem once syncing up, (turns out it was my error), so I called the Sena support phone number and they were very helpful. Don't hesitate to call them for help.
