Helmets?

I've worn a KBC VR2 Stealth for the last 8-years, LOVE that helmet. Comfortable, low wind noise, easy changing of the shields, and it was affordable. It was my second VR2 that I had, as the first one got damaged in a wreck.

I have a new ICON Salient Helmet waiting on me at my house to try out next week when I get home.

i like speed and strength. they stand by thier products, affordable, comfortable, and not every one around me has that brand. i like to be different.

I like the new Bell helmets. I have a Star Carbon. They are nice helmets, but the available transitions lens is what sold me on them. That lens is awesome.

This. If I could afford one I would have one. Until then my bell revolver does just fine. I will never buy another helmet that does not have a secondary sun visor or transition lens.

On a side note I can't wait for google glass to be integrated into helmet visors in an affordable fashion.

I always have a couple of helmets in the garage: one for the street & one for dual-sport riding.

I never skimp on the street helmets. I find Shoei & Arai to provide the quietest & most comfortable lids, & I can usually get ~5years out of one before it needs replacing.

I replace my Dual sport helmets much more often however. All the dirt & sweat destroy them within 1-2 years, so that's why I usually shop mid-range makes like HJC & Bell.

I have the Speed & Strength SS2500

Same here. Got it in the Lunatic Fringe graphic. Its way more comfortable than I expected and gets great airflow. Couldn't argue with the price either.

I've had an HJC CL-16 (DOT/M2010)and I now wear an LS2 FF386(DOT/ECE 22-05). The CL-16 was the cheapest M2010 helmet I could find. Fit well, the included pinlock visor worked great, and the noise was fine with the use of earplugs. The FF386 doesn't fit my head quite as perfectly, but I like the convenience of the modular helmet and quick release clip (my hands turn stupid when I put gloves on), and the internal visor is great. Not to mention the FF386 seems a whole lot more stable at highway speed.

When you divide the cost of a nice helmet by the 5-7 years of it's useful life, you can see it's well worth it.

Arai or Shoei only for me. They fit me, and they are both heavily involved in motorsports and invest that knowledge into their product.

Both of mine are Bell in matte black. I wear the Revolver Evo (it's a modular) during the colder months, usually ride in the winter as long as there is no ice or snow on the street. The fit is spot on and love the flip down integrated sun shield. In the warmer months I wear a Rogue. Other than the pissed off look, the muzzle helps with the bugs ( I live out in the sticks in and out of corn fields for miles). The fit again is right on and with the semi open face, I can still hear clearly, especially my Hawk exhaust which I love. Both are completely worth the $$

Don't be cheap about your helmet. It's your freaking brain in there. I went through an accident a month and and a half ago, and thank god for my Icon helmet. If it weren't for a good helmet, I would be dead. Like coterie said, divide the cost over years of use and it's not to expensive for insurance for the what if moment. Bell, shoei, arai, all great helmets. Just do your homework and please don't skimp on head protection.
