I just replaced my stator, v.r. and tps.

I ser the tps per the manule and forum recommendations, aftrr zerroing and hitting rest adjust back out to 4.6, 5.1, 5.3, 5.6 and even as high as 6.1 and at each one I get the same thing bike will backfire sputter then die. I even went so far as pulling the air box off and visually checking throttle plate was completely closed before hitting reset tps.

Any help or recommendations on this?

Bike is a 07 xb12stt and I'm using ecmdroid and xopti bluetooth module to do the rest.

I changed my TPS last week and it did the same thing.

To remedy it, I reset the AFV value in 5-10% increments. I started with it close to where it was before replacing the TPS and went from there.

Try the reset again i usually keep the ecmspy in one window and have the reset directions in one window. Its real easyto skip a step. I dont know if its me but it seams a warm bike reacts different from a cold bike reset.i usually dont reset the afv it seems when i do stuff acts different.dont turn off the white wire or muffler control at the same time as a reset. Just go slow and easy and after u reset it and it seems fine it make take a small ride or two for the ecm to relern itself.

Just re did the tps reset and check my afv. Ecmdroid is showing afv at 60.7% so my question now is how do I adjust my afv? I did some google searching but didn't find anything and I'm not finding it in the manual but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm just missing it in there somewhere?

Yeah ecmdroid is a basic version you run on your phone. I see a afv value and I did change it but it didn't actually change.

The backfiring is gone but now the motor just cuts out after about 3 seconds no matter what I set the tps degrres at.

I found it on ecmdroid. Click the little wrench, go to AFV setting and change the value to what you want then then hit apply changes on the main window od the wrench tab and it will burn it to you eeprom.

Bikes is now running perfect at lest around the block. Grabbing my helmt now to take it for a longer ride.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Took it for a nice ride and ran great got back home put the kick stand down and then the bike fell over... stupid kickstand bolts came loose on me bent the broke the clutch lever.

So at lest I got the bike running and idleing good.
