Hey guys,

I know its been a long time since ive posted up just have been really busy with school.
So the buell wont start...

Heres what happen.. came home from the gym and parked the bike in garage but left the key in the ignition with it on by accident. next day found the bike completely dead battery bad so i replaced it. Now the bike wouldnt start and the fuel pump wasnt priming. replaced relays and fuses seem fine. pump still not priming and no go. bike was running great before this..

What else could this be?

I'm having the same problem. Pulled into a gas station last evening, filled her up and then BOOM....no priming of the fuel pump. so I sat there twiddling my thumbs for about 3 minutes and tried it again, and it started. I think the problem is the starter relay because the whine of the fuel pump sounded good. I'll test and if necessary replace the starter relay to see if anything changes.

Tyler-

did you check fuse?

Did you replace the battery or recharge it?

If you recharged it the battery could be toast and causing you those problems. Same thing happened on that damn Ducati I bought back in December.

9S_dude- sounds like you have a loose wire somewhere.

which fuse do i need to check wolfo? i believe ive checked related fuses but trying everything. and battery was replaced with new one.

d adams or dru which ground? all connections a battery are good and ground battery to frame is good.

all relays are good i even replaced them with new ones

ignition or keyswitch I believe

that image is from an 03.

I think grounds that could cause the issue are the ones to the subframe or the one on the front of the frame. just below where the fairing stay attaches

well wolfo i had already checked those two fuses and confirmed they were good. i checked again and decided to go through all my fuses while i was there. pulled out the ecm fuse and it was fine but i put it back in and tried it and there ya go! that buell rumble came on!

My buell is the bitchiest girl I have ever been with! yes it is a girl i mean u screw up one little thing and all the sudden shes like no u cant ride me anymore. u give her all the attention in the world and she still acts cranky. but damn when stuff is right it is RIGHT

Thanks wolfo and everyone, ill have to post up more

I have had to do the same thing twice now! Each time I have noticed some fuses have become slightly unseated and askew in their sockets. This weekend I pulled each of them and carefully inspected for corrosion - and put dielectric grease on each one and reseated them correctly again - careful to see they actually seated between the contacts and not beside. My XB12 only has 11K miles And it has lived in a garage every night of it's life! I guess the potholes/ vibrations / speedbumps / rail road tracks/ etc make this a routine maintenance process?. :( I wonder if we could wedge a properly sized piece of rubber hose down on top of each row under the lid to hold them down? I was originally thinking a square of foam rubber - but I think that might store any heat in which might be bad.
Thoughts anyone?
