Help Exhaust servo question.

I'm wanting to do an open air box mod and want to know what to do with exhaust servo? I do believe I don't have a a reason to have it on there because I have a hawk exhaust but when I unplug the clip on the top it throws a check engine light. I've seen others do it but what did you guys do with it or with the check engine light? Also with my hawk exhaust if I remove the cable from the top of the muffler does that mean that it is penned shut? Any help would be great thanks

08+ you need a emulator.

Pre 08 disable with ecmspy.

Or just leave the box plugged in and take out the cable that attaches to the muffler.

Like 09 says check your exhaustv if no valve in the muffler then American Sport Bike .com- will have a Emunlator that will do what you need. This way you won't set a code on your dash. The part is cheap and you plug it in where the Interactive Exhaust wiring is ,up at the top of the inner air box..
That way the Cel Yellow light will go off and that way if something else goes out you will be aware so maintenance can be preformed. Good Luck. *Jimi
