Help get Tuition Assistance back.

Hey everyone, alot of you may know this but last week the government decided that soldiers wanting to better themselves with education don't deserve the benefits they were promised and took away Tuition Assistance. If you find this as f**ked up as I do, please take some time to fill this page out. It will help get back what military people deserve. Thank you.

If I agree to give up my LIFE, I think i deserve some education. And contrary to popular believe not all service branches pay 100%. I am a reservist and I get 4500$ PER YEAR. When means i still have to take out loans blah blah. But the fact is that it still helps.

On top of this, I work a part time job, a internship, and I take 21 credit hours. I still barely manage to pay bills, losing TA will make me have to stay a year later to be able to finish college.

have used the benefit in the past, my Montgomery GI Bill has almost been exhausted, but still have the post 911 GI Bill to use

I will fill it out when I get a chance. I had signed my gi bill over to my dependents. I am very upset about this. The government wants to stop educating its members but at the same time they are giving free cell phones to people on welfare. Tell me what has happend here? I'm counting down my time 6 years until I'm eligible for retirement.

i feel your pain. i was planing on using ta for some online courses and i transfered my post 9/11 as well. i can get the illinoins veterns grant but i dont think it will cover online course. otherwise i have used up all my other school benefits. at lease i got my b.s. when i did. 4 more years till i hit my 20.

I'm pissed my T/A is gone, its completely stupid, i'm only an e3, and i can think of many other ways to save money within the military!!!!.......

I'll fill this out later when i have some time, I'm pretty sure there is a petition going around as well. At least that is what my chief was telling me a few days ago.

So I just found out today that there is a bill to reinstate tuition assistance in every branch of the military with the exception of the US Coast Guard!! Seriously we spend a tenth of tuition asistance compared to any other branch. Not so happy about this one!![down]

Yeah - my wife told me today it's back on - didn't know about "them" keeping it from the Coast Guard. What's another few million in the big scheme of things when billions are given back for TA.
