i have an 08 it will start right up after dropping as well it has a bank angle sensor but once you stand it up, the switch is back in a position to allow it to run

Why didn't the bank sensor stop my bike from starting? 2004 XB12R

i have the same year and after dropping mine it fired right up as well.
My guess: The sensor is on the later years.

Same on an 06, guys. I was pulling into a toll plaza last Friday when the stupid EZ pass fell off and bounced under the rear wheel causing the back to slip out from under me. Yanked her back up, 2 attempts and some swearing within about 20 seconds and she started on the 3rd try.

the BAS is not an exclusve 06+ item. sheesh yous guys.
ya gotta cycle the key/kill switch to reset the BAS realy/circuit. it's a saftey thing.

friends DONT LET friends let friends drive friends BUELL.

WTF WAS YOU THINKING, if your friend really crashed hard or totaled it and SHE was or is not on your insurance WTF would you have done then,
WTF was you trying to get LAID or what. you aint getting any now, THE BIKE IS THE ONLY THING GETTING LAID THERE !!!!!

lol! The wind knocked my bike over the second day I got it. I got off the bike to close the garage and put the kickstand up. The only thing is that my ally slopes. One big gust of wind and bam. Ahhhh ****!!!

Bike didnt start. I panicked. It started 10 seconds later. And I bought all new leds and new left clip on and new clutch lever ass.

Some lessons are learned the hard way i guess! [smirk]

Native, thanks for the perspective. I never thought twice about it from that point of view. Looking back i should have thought about it and trust me when i look at the scratches i kick myself. Luckily i forced all the gear on her so she was protected for the most part. I also should have made sure she knew how to ride. I was trying to be a good friend. I agree bttrfngrz but i WAS stupid letting her ride alone without making sure she knew HOW to ride. I admit my screwups and i paid for them.

So i got a stupid question...I read about using oil in both holes etc...i know how to change the oil and ive done it before...but whats the other hole??

Primary being...what? Im slow on mechanical stuff until i actually touch/do something.

primary is where your clutch is, on the left side of the bike. there is a chain inspection hole, and a clutch adjustment hole on that side, i've heard of people running regular motor oil, ATF, and whatever stock grade is in there.

hey hey if you want man i can show you how to do all your maintainance, now that it's winter and i'm twiddling my thumbs for fun, i got a bit of spare time.
hit me up 268-8500 same area code as you. and i have ecmspy if'n you don't have yourself set up yet
