HELP!! What is this?

Hello everyone. Last year I asked a few people @badWeb and maybe here what this was. Now that there seem to be more helpful people around.... What is this? Is this where you connect the ECMSpy? The 3 items on the front red portion are buttons. You can press them in.

no,are you sure they are buttons and not just plugs to protect the pins?

No, I'm not sure. I know that if I press them they go in.

I'm guessing you have a newer bike and my question is did someone sell it to you privately?

Nope got it off the show room floor at Skip Fordyce in Riverside, CA in Jan 09, had 4 miles on it when I got it.

could be for the active intake on the japan modles,factory test connector or a splice pack

This may not be a popular answer, but take it in and ask the dealer perhaps. That is, unless there is a consensus here...

accessory plug or heated grip plug? since it's on the newer ones and I know they had it built into the wiring harness that's my guess

It's a 2009 XB12R. They had it brought in because they only had the black and red when I called them.

Wolfo68, I checked the manual, but I didn't see it. I'll have to go through it page by page. That's a big ass book. =)

Oh and before anyone laugh at my tires, they were pretty new in that photo. 2nd or 3rd set. This is what they look like now, but I haven't had a chance to hit any good spots lately.
