Help with check engine light.

2008 firebolt xb12r. Up until today ran fine. Decided to take her out for an afternoon ride. Put the key in turned the ignition on. No check engine light. Started it, check engine light came on two seconds later. Stayed on while riding. Stopped at stop sign ten minutes into ride. I turned the bike off. Turned ignition on, no light. Started, light came on two seconds later. I rode home and parked her, nervous and anxious. This might be a stupid question, but I have the code throwing dongle from asb, can I use it while the bikes running to get a code?

Unless im mistaken it should store the code for awhile, try plugging it in and see what happens.

As Cosworth mentioned, you should have a code stored, which is retrievable from the eeprom.

Yes, you can also get historic and current codes while the bike is running. The codes are part of the "live" runtime data stream.

Ok, so ran the code. 2-1. Exhaust servo (xb12 only). Can someone please explain what exactly this means?

Your servo that controls the interactive exhaust took a ****. If you have a aftermarket exhaust dont worry just get a emulator or use tunerpro to clear the check engine light.
