Help with recalls

Well I know it is 2011 but anyone know what recalls their were for 06 xb12r? Just curious if they still fix them? Headlight recall? Kickstand? Only two i know....

I think the headlight recall ended last year. I found out like the day after.

It just involves replacing the projectors as the reflective coating dissintegrates after prolonged heat exposure. The projectos are rather pricy though. Other people have used Hella projectors as replacements. I also recently found a set of projectors from The Retrofit Source that are sealed, which *could* work. I just wish they were bi-xenon.

The stock projectors are not bad at all, especially if you put 35W HIDs in. I would not recommend the 55w as the added heat is probably not good for the reflective coating.

If the reflective coating has already worn off, I would definitely recommend a new projector. If it hasn't, you're okay. I don't recall having seen the cutoff of a Hella projector, but the projector from TRS (http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=249) has pretty good cutoff from what I can tell. Yes it's labeled as a fog, however I'm sure it'd be fine for a low beam as well. You can also open up the projector to gain access to and remove the shield for more of a high beam type lamp. Might be worth a shot since they are only $45.

Are those projectors direct replacement I already have hid kit and don't want to buy something that's will waste previous investment if u know what I'm saying.

Wow thanks native. I assume there isn't any recalls. This slightly intrigues me though. Thought the bike fell under a few of them like kickstands and headlights.

I had thought the same thing, that there was several year models that had the kickstand and headlight recalls(includeing all 2006 models) .
I would double check with BUELL and call them at,
Buell Customer Service at Harley-Davidson: the numbers are (414) 343-8400 and also (414) 343-4056.

Not a recall actually, a customer satisfaction dealio Ended Dec 2010. It made a huge difference for me though. It's like $300 plus labor though now.

The high cost of the stock replacement is why the Hella projectors have been used before and also why I suggested the TRS Blazers as a good cheaper alternative. Both replacements would require some modification though. How much modification is required? Not sure, haven't done one as I had HD do the recall work right before it ended.
