Okay, so I got two tickets (at the same time) today.
First was for passing in a no passing zone.
Second was riding with a passenger with a permit.

For the no passing it literally JUST changed right before i passed the car. 3 Points, over $200

The passenger, I completed MSF, just didn't go to the DMV to get my fully endorsed license. Also 3 points and over $200.

I'm hoping they'll just toss out the second one since I'll show up to court with my fully endorsed one, but any ideas on how to get the points removed/reduced for the first ticket?
Thanks!

State that you began to overtake the car while still in the passing zone.

For the Permit I would think just having the full endo would justify tossing it out as you just had to pick it up.

At the very least show up, be polite and they might knock it all down to Impeding the flow of Traffic or something that is just a fine and no points[smirk]

Step up, own it. Tell the judge you are a new rider and you are sorry and will be more responsible in the future. I don't think you will but it is what you should do. Good luck.

1)ruff you might have to suck it up.
2)you might be lucky, if you show proof that you have your license they might reduce it.
not sure where your at but in california they don't mess around when it comes to driving with your permit. got pulled over on the freeway for a blue windshield. when the notice came i was told to appear in court. when i saw the judge he dismissed the blue windshield then suspended my license for 30days for not following the law and driving on the freeway with my permit

thanks for the ideas guys!
Yea, it's not really the money I'm worried about, it's more so the points :(

Pay a REAL attorney, he can negotiate with the prosecutor for you. If he has a good relationship with the prosecutor he will be able to get them reduced to non moving no point violation. It will cost more upfront, but save on insurance, which would cost more in the long run.

Remember no passing zones are for your safety, try to respect them.

where are you located? where I live (Ontario, Canada), I have had good response using any ex-cop to take my case, costs $3-400 but he does all the work, goes to court, negotiates, etc. Lots of different ex-cop "fix ticket companies" to chose from. Twice I have had offences reduced to fine only bylaw infractions with no points on my licence or any affect on my already high insurance. Cheaper than a real lawyer as well.[cool]
