I have a buell xb9r firebolt. The ECM went out i put a ECB (Eric Buell Raceing) ECM in. After you do this you must reset the throttle. It ran fine with out it reset then one day just dont know what toodo. I love in Alabama.....
[confused]

sounds like a wire got too hot and melted through if you had smoke. or check your flasher to make sure it didn't burn up (check your signals)

they work it just like dont run. i need the throttle reset but i dont get why it cut out after riden it for a while an i have a aftermarcket exhaust
:(

Third eye, Welcome to the forum, in order so the Dealer can help you. If that's the route you need to go then Well, get a Tyre Because the Dealers Hands are tied due to Safety Regulations. Something could happen. Yes there are waivers for that but Dealers do not believe in those and they have the right to refuse service.I do the same thing here in the shop as well to protect my Empolyees and the Company. There is some that are Buell Friendly.
Remember for the Bike to be Tested and ridden by their Employees the tyres & Bike needs to be safe.If something happens then the end result could be a wreck or just them having to buy you a whole lot of Materials not to mention what the Hurt Employee will need IF the Person Survived.
Check your previous work you did. It may be easy to find. Check all the fuses Especially the Ign., fuse then the Fuel pump etc.. A computer can't do it all but may be helpful in your problem area .
When you had smoke coming out of a certain area not sure on the area you are Talking about. Post your year of Bike and Lets see if with a Better Explaination if someone can help you get to Riding soon. Cycle Gear has a sale on Tyres .Good Luck.*Jimi

@ThridEye - you really need to explain what happened and what's going on in detail, in logical order, and in good English for anybody to even try to figure out what's going with your bike.

First, what year is your bike?
It makes a big difference on the reset.

Second, what exactly happened one day?
Did the bike stall out on you while you were riding?
Did it just not start one day?
Need a little more detail to help buddy.

dees one time i see bike go boom? ne idear what i diz do? haha sorry had to
There it is LOL!

It is pretty difficult to find out what the problem is. Not to be a prick, but you have to tell us what happened, in detail, and in the order of the events. The year of the bike is also important, as others have said. For us to help, we need to understand exactly what you experienced. Good luck, buddy.
