Hi everyone!
I'm new to the board. Got a brand new 12cg and LOVE it!

I did notice right away the sputter-hesitation off idle. I have been reading and reading and am SO glad I found this awesome Forum!

anyway, in looking at all the pics and reading the write-ups I'm excited to do the hose re-route/breather mod. I had done this on previous bikes.

now I just want to be sure I got it down. can someone explain to a noob here excatly what hose I am removing/moving/redirecting at the airbox?

thanks! this places rocks!

Thanks guys, I had already read and looked at that..

can you tell me

so.. the two hoses that go into the airbox get a "T" and then ONE hose goes back down somewhere.. and has a filter coming off it and a drain or plug at the bottom?
is that right?

thanks so much!

First off, welcome to the Forum LOK and the "family"! :D[up]

Almost everyone does the reroute differently with the same end result - cleaner air for your intake. It's akin to changing the plugs, there's many ways to do it, but all that matters is you get the new plugs in.

I took the 2 hoses from the airbox to a single line, ran back and T'd a filter into the single line, continued down and zip tied under my peg. Some terminate theirs to a catch can or a drain plug. I left mine open with no problems. No drips on my bike or the garage floor so I think the "waste" gases stay that way all the way out instead of accumulating in a plug or can. Anyway, you can see my filter in the pic below. It's behind the "co" of Buellxb.com logo.

Edit: And Congrats on the new bike, love the blacked out look. Take care and ride safe.

Thanks Steven!

man.. this is my 23rd motorcycle... I have had dirtbikes, sportbikes, jap cruisers, Harleys, and I think I like this Buell the BEST so far!

I'm gonna get what I need and do this breather re-direct this weekend.

I just have to see how to remove the airbox cover.
I have done this on previous bikes, just a little different

Airbox cover is cake man, just a few screws, post up pics when you get your re-route complete. Welcome to the fun side of life.

I've still got a little piece of the original off my bike hanging in the garage. It's 3/8"
