55w DDM tuning 5000k color

I think I may go with 35w when the slim balasts come off back order, 55w is stupid bright.

55w is stupid bright.

Than why dont you just go with a Halogen bulb. And since when is a light too bright if it making you see things more clear? Its safer to have brighter lights too [confused]

cool Im looking at the ddm website . do you know what bulb type and do the ballasts for 55w fit easy in a lightning

I've had the DDM Tuning 35w 5000k slim ballast in my low beam for about a year. I absolutely love it! I have a lightning and there isn't much room in there to hide the ballast. I don't know how some guys are fitting high and low beam ballasts in a lightning.

Is there a DIY for this? I was wondering where to mount the ballasts myself.

I have actually been debating between the 6000k and 8000k of the 35w HID's. Does anyone have pictures of those colors at 35w? I feel like I've seen some 6000k pics, but not 8000k pics.

Matt

Because halogen doesn't put out enough light.

When it annoys other motorists despite how it is aimed

Not true at all, if other drivers are blinded they may still strike you because they can't seee your exact position, or they may stoke those behind you because they can't see past your lights.

I also have the HID 55w from DDM tuning, i think i got the 6k. they are verrrrry bright! I havent ridden much at all with them yet (only like twice) but they are nice!!! pretty easy instal to! I have a timer switch for them to instal still.

i'll probably get that done this weekend...

(i love my bright headlights! :) haha)

Iman, what temp and wattage are your HID's at?

I am considering going with the 8000k 35w, one because it has less light output from both being a 35w (vs 55w) and a higher temp. The blue tint of the light would match the bike, but I am concerned that I would get pulled over for having the blue lights. I know that 10k's are worse, but just curious to peoples opinions and/or pictures.

Iman

Love the look of the pattern from the firebolt projectors, it keeps the HIDs under control.

The lightning has way more splatter to it and the HID lights actually broaden the beam in all directions.

Mine are 55w and 6k, i know that HIDs are cooler than the conventional bulbs that came with out bikes, and the higher number you go, the more blueish\purple the color becomes

Shinning - yes there is a DIY thread, but its on badweb in the knowledge vault under the electrical section (ive postge on the thread asking some questions before i did mine, and i got it done about two weeks ago)

what did you guys do about the delay at start up..isnt it bad to have the ballast turn on and off like that without being warm?

I just put them on over my winter months. They look great installed easy. Only problem SPACE being a naked bike just need to get creative. I paid $70 to the front door of my house. 10k h3 bulbs came with everything. Ill try to get pictures up later...

About the start up issue, i bought a delay timer, it makes it so the lights dont turn on at all untill after 20 seconds (or whatever you set the time to) of staarting your bike
