I put the ddm tuning hid's in my 03 bolt. so i switched the high beams on today. when i did the bike kinda popped, like the lights drew so much power to turn on that it affected how the motor runs. anyone have this problem or could explain if i should be worried about this.

yea my bike does that to.....?.....

i have yet to have any major problems, just a little hickup in it running when i flip the high beam on.....its really annoying.....

so i'm interested in this question as well!

mine is wired through a relay, both low and high are actually, with a ten second delay to them when i start the bike up....

For that mod the delay is a good thing,And a relay can save the wiring. The light bezels over time may melt due to the design wasn't made for the higher wattage.Eventually it catches up and depends on how long they are on with each riding trip.I just altered my low beam deflector and reaimed the low beam.Plus at night I try not to out ride my lights,so I don't kill myself or just fly over a 500foot drop. That little azs guard rail don't do much. But better than nothing. With a Mod like that might want to check your Voltage out put every couple of rides.12.5-6volts at idle and 14.5-6max volts at 3200 or so rpms.Depending on which model bike you have.Ride safe.

Mine does the same thing. The high beam doesn't stay on the first time either. I have to turn the switch off then back on a second time and then it works alright.

It's that initial turn on that causes the hiccup, I'd like to solve this too.

I have to let the HIDs warm up ( until the faint buzz goes away )
Then start the bike. Otherwise if I start the bike and while the bike is warming up, turn the HIDs on, it'll kill my motor.

But if the bikes warm it just drops RPM for a sec.

I have xenonrider.com HIDs.

Mine did the same thing. Had both high andlow set up on relays. But then i took them off to get the recall done and haven't put then back on yet. I think ill probably end up only putting on the low side and leaving the high side a regular bulb.

i only got them for the low beam and i have no problem whatso ever

This thread has got me worried though now lol. Oh ya what's up with the LED strip above your headlights? Enlighten us please
