I have a 05 xb12r and i have started doing and enjoying very small little stunting. Such as stoppies and power & clutch wheelies. Since i love my baby very much i like to use my military training to make sure i dont do to much. But since to me my buell hates twistys at med-low speeds i feel her nature is street fighting... aka stunts.

What about you guys?
Do you carve more or stunt more? Or just cruise?
How do you feel about stunting your beauty?

I like to spend my time in the twisties with an occasional cruise. I wouldn't ever stunt my bike. I used to do stupid stuff on dirtbikes but they are a little easier to fix. If it makes you happy doing stunts, at the appropriate time and place, then by all means do it.

Spend most of my time in the twisties whenever possible, riding a wheelie now and then is about all I do. Last thing I would ever want to do is lay it down. Like dallasb stated - dirt bikes are easier to fix!

I try to push my bike to it's fullest potential. Weather it's high revving twisties, or block long wheelies. I stopped doing stoppies cuz it seems so hard on it coming down. Other then that I've pretty much been beating the crap outta my bike for 6yrs and almost 30,000 miles w/ minimal problems.... Happy trails

Josh

I just like riding in the twisties and cruising around. I like my baby to much to mess it up. Plus, doing stupid crap can cause accident and love being around for my kids and wife.

I carve like a madman!
:D
can't stand the drone on a freeway

really can't afford to fix stuff broken while 'stunting' so if the front comes up while riding aggressively, so be it..otherwise I'll keep my 2 wheels on the ground thank you very much...
if I owned a cruiser I would 'cruise'

I agree with YJBoomer and Buddha a BUELL and twisties were meant to be together. I can't stand people stunting on public roads . Do it in a parking lot or something. A guy was killed in Dallas the other day on a tollway while racing and stunting.

I just started to do small wheelies. These bikes are made for it. I feel as long as I take it slow untill i master them i will do great. Once i do master wheelies I will have much more mad skill in the twisties then before. When you watch bike racing they always come out of turns with the front tire a little off the ground. So learning the skill can only help. I see people do it all the time like its second nature. Once mastered there is very little risk. Extreem does mad wheelies. If your not ready then by all means dont start. You will know when your ready. I am, its a comfort level I have aquired.

for anyone to say they hate people who wheelie there bikes that showa yoyur level of riding ,keep this in mind ,the best stunters are married to the clutch and the brakes its second nature to us ,and when u guys learn your bikes that well only then will u get the full potential out of your bikes and stop crying about laying your bikes down makes u guys sound like real beginners

Do a little of both

But had a couple of drops as well, one on the twisties and one in a parking lot. Cost money to have fun, just the way I look at it[smirk]

Awesome extremelow thanks for the pics an for showing these guys how u should ride your BUELLS oh and your bike looks great keep it on one wheel every chance u get ,hey old men this is how u should ride lol with your feet in the seat lol

Once I get the normal height suspension and race map put on my bike I'm hoping to pull out wheelies a bit more often. With the low suspension and stock map on my 9 it doesn't really feel natural like my last bike did. I feel like I'm forcing the bike too much.

Next fall I'm hoping to pick up something cheap, beat up and japanese and I'll probably play around on that one a lot more since it'll be much cheaper to fix, and I'll be much less upset if anything bad happens to it.

WHat would you guys say is the best set up suspension wise for good carving? I have my bike tuned to what the book says i should but its so hard to flick and turn over in the turns. I was able to go down my twistys at 90mph on my gs500f and i can only do 70mph on a bike everyone raves about being flickable and carvable and its the most stiff mug out there.

What should i do to better this? I miss my carving :(
btw im 6'3" 140lb

Wow, thanks for the lesson on how to ride a Buell. When I was a kid, back in the 30's, seats were for sitting in.

Im starting to stunt :) but having problems being consistent, some days i can pop a quick wheelie with ease but other days i cant do it for the life of me! Most of my problems is my bike is still pretty stuck as of performance mods. My old 9 i had alot done to it and it would stand the front end up no prob but i have to work it with the 12?? Oh ya i love the twisies but dont really have any in Rockford Il.

I ran into the lack of power when riding a 12 versus my 9 not sure if it was the 12 was bone stock compared to my 9 that has a race kit, breater reroute, better tires, susp set to my weight, and me just being more use to my bike.

As far as susp setup to make the bike "flick" better I personally like a stiff setup, gives me more feel to the road, and IMO allows for less washout feeling or mire stability.

08supernoto, are you a dude or chick?

na bro im a dude, just tired of the cry babies that wont even try anything new on there bike buells, but will post a comment on what they feel u should do with yours ,its just good to see somone other than myself willing to push there bikes to the limit
sorry u wont be getting lucky off me xtremelow lol;)

When the OP asked what we thought isn't that a que to give an opinion. Just becuase it differs from yours doesn't mean its any less appropriate. But then again I work way to hard for what I have so I try to keep it nice for as long as I can which means 2 wheels on the ground for me. And no I am not a noob at riding wheelies or stoppies or any of that other nonsense...I just choose to do it on the dirt.
