How much crap has broken on your Buell?

The caliper shouldn't "stick". When you let off the lever the pucks should slightly retract/recess back into the caliper, hence no dragging. The pads are always lightly rubbing on the disk though, thats the way all disk brake setups work.
Haha, yes I understand how brakes work.

Hence why I said it STUCK and all Harley did was pull it apart, clean it, grease where the pistons slide, and slap it back in.
Now a few months later the same side is sticking and while one pad has 3/4 of its life left, the sticking side is almost down to the metal.

uhh...Is there a safety shut-off switch on our kickstands? My SV would shut off if I went in gear with the kickstand down. The XB runs fine and would run in 1st with the stand down, is that wrong?

They quit putting them on bikes after a certain year.

Sorry baja I see what your saying the pistons are sticking on one side my bad
nothing bad to say about my Buell exprince hence why I am buying another

Mine will idle fine in any gear with the stand down so long as the clutch is pulled. If you try and let it out it will stall. I tried to idle it across a garage with the stand down once and found that out.

Sadly,

Holy ****, did you buy this online or what?

As far as my buell at 6k, the only problem is when i first bought it it had fouled plugs, and lady that owned couldn't start it for me, saved me about 1000.00 :), i have done many mods so maybe I have already replaced most of minor problems before i had them. General maintenance is starting to get me though, brakes are due, and i think clutch is starting to feel different, and battery gets weak especially on hot days, im hoping its the battery and not the starter.

04 xb12 over 60k miles on it
clutch cable
voltage regulator
battery
postitive battery cable
oil feed adapter
1 computer
front isolator mount
fork seals at around 58k miles
and replaced all the gaskets due to minor leakage

Clutch cable guide/retainer @ front head.
Idle adjuster cable.
Front brake pads sorta kinda half-broken : )
11k miles, '04 XB12R:)

- Clutch cable
- Brake lever (fell over on a trailer)
- RH footpeg (trailer incident)
- Had to take it to the dealership to fix some diodes, and chase down a bad ground.

Other than maintenance items, thats it. Its a '03 XB9S with around 8,500 miles.

Is it me, or does it seem like the newer XB's have more issues than the older ones?

-Starter Switch
-little red plastic cover on the positive battery terminal

Bike sat for 2 years before i got to it, didnt know what i was doing, so after running it in idle, i fouled the plugs, ran gritty fuel through the lines, and somehow shorted a plug wire, i had to replace and clean it. But that was my fault.

Everything else I replaced is from a low side- clutch lever, foot lever, TS, frame, fairing, sairing stays, swingarm

-clutch cable mount x2
-horn mount bracket
-3 belts
-cluth cable
-(dealer)cross threaded rear plug!
-license plate crackin in half
04 xb12s
Can't complain...daily ride rain or shine. ya gotta love the Buell!!

I havent been able to ride my Buell since march 2010!! Its been to two different dealers over 7 times and I put $2,000 into it since then and my problem is still not fixed!! It sputters and almost stalls when the bike warms up to normal operating temps. [sad] [down]
