Hi y'all !!

I am back for another "problem" with my Buell. Actually, it is not a problem yet, but it will be if I don't find a solution !
I just bought a new translucent valencia orange airbox and a new windscreen for my Buell XB9.

I already own a blue airbox but it has many gas marks on it. I don't want it to happen on my new one. I was wondering if there is a solution to avoid those marks if some gas leaks on it.

Thank you everyone !

Don't drip it on the airbox.

I take the nozzle out and turn the nozzle north above the hole and put it back. Not one drip.

That's what I try to do. But, well, one drop of it and it's done... And actually, I am who I am, I will some day drop some gas on it :D. I heard that there is a solution for problem, Something like varnishing it ?

Wax the box from time to time, it makes a protective film over the box till you get home and can clean it.

what jesse and cosworth said. the transluscent box covers and windscreens are very sexy indeed but need a bit of special care. example is the front mount top-hats for the air box cover. without them and the 4 special factory rubber washers and correct attachment screws they absolutely will crack. once a month during riding season i gently clean the transluscent parts, then put a heavy coat of top quality carnuba wax on each part and let it sit overnite. next day polish with soft cotton t-shirt type cloth. keeps them pristine and wards off fuel droplets, bugs, etc.

IF or when it does happen, there is a 2-part polish out there for plastic that works great. Trust me.....your coat zipper, pants button and who knows what WILL mark it up. This polish does keep them looking nice. It's in a blue bottle and white bottle, but I can't remember the name right now. If I remember to look in the shop, I will right it down and post later.

Grab a couple of paper towels that they keep next to the squeegee. Hold below nozzle in case of drip. .

Novus is the company that makes the stuff I use to clean up spots and scratches.

Novus is really good, I also really like Meguiars PlasX for translucent box covers, the PlasX is specifically for clear plastics such as headlamp lenses etc but works wonders on buell airboxes.
