It's fairly straightforward. I found a BlueTooth module that will make things a lot easier for you guys. I'll post in a day or two once I track down part numbers for everyone.

Ich, i cannot reply to your topic link. Can you explain differences between gold and silver units please ?

Has i can read in german ( ouch ) no more units are to sell :( . I really need one. I need to build one but from what i've read no more eletronics components are needed ? Only the board, a Deutch connector and wires to make it work ?

I customed a cable with a FT232 module for my bike. when i ran the ecmspy software, it occured that failed to get firmware version....Why? What's the firmware?

Hi guys. Old topic but it's current subject for me during this winter. I've been thinking about making a bluetooth dongle so I wouldn't need to run my ecmspy cable from under the seat to my backpack where I keep my laptop while datalogging.

So is bluetooth a reliable way to connect to bikes ecm? Found some old topic with google where someone was writing that it's very vulnerable to interferences? Can't find that topic any more...

And then I have another question. Will this bluetooth module do the trick with 5V voltage regulator?

Thanks guys!

a bluetooth connection made with high quality parts is more reliable than a cable.
