Damn dude! I don't know about you guys, but I thought this movie kicked ass. Start to finish! I'm glad I haven't read the books though I've heard they're pretty different. I think now that I saw the movie I Will read the first one and wait to read The second one till after the second movie. I was thrown off by all the twists and turns. Damn good movie. Wish they would have gone for an R rating to show more blood. And apparently in the book catnip baths in the river in her underwear. Would have like to have seen that. Either way, I think this will be one of the best trilogys of all time. Like, up there with star wars. And knocks harry potter down to kiddy status.

Saw the movie last night! 45 minutes into the movie I turned to my gf and said this a weird movie.... By the end we loved it. Im curious to how the next 2 movies will be.

I feel like I am up on most current events and seemingly well rounded whether its politics, sports, film, etc, but I had not heard of Hunger Games until this thread! So I'm not up as I thought I might be! lol!

My bad Dave! I thought this was another Twilight type chick flick series! Far from that from what I'm hearing and interested in seeing the movie!

I think you've all been punked by this thread! Surely Dave's not serious!!

I retract! [up]

or find an ugly chick and hang out with her. It will confuse the other girl and she will start to question her attractiveness.

lol

My wife wants to see this movie, she's never heard of the books though. I'll be happy to take her. After being forced to see the twilight movies anything (including sex and the city 1 & 2) is just progress.

BTW there's only 1 more twilight movie left :) not that any one is counting...

This is NOTHING LIKE THE BS LOVE STORY TWILIGHT CHEESY ACTING SHIT. Teenagers killing each other. Plots, schemes, twists and turns. Twilight is for kids in high school. You'll like this movie. Haven't heard a single person say they didn't

When I watched the movie, I was a little saddened by parts that were left out. I understand that it had to be shortened to adapt to the screen, but things they left out took away from the intensity of the situation. Like with Rue, (I won't give any spoilers), in the book, their relationship was closer. Same with Peeta. The fan girls were disappointed with that as well. The book was just more heartfelt. I still thought it was a good movie, but you should definitely read the books.

This really is going to be an epic trilogy, and the books will be considered some of the best writing of our time. Obviously not grammar reasons, but for the fact that they're just a damn good story. Buddha needs to give them a try.

^problem with that is you have to like reading to read a book lol. Not that I'm against reading or books lol but I honestly just am too hyper to focus and pay attention to a book. My mind just wanders and I start thinking about my bike or truck and then 5 pages later I say to myself "I have absolutely no idea what I just read".

I'm the same way. I can read instruction manuals fine, but I get bored with reading. I listened to the book on "tape" when we took a drive to AZ. It's like watching a movie when driving, just a heck of a lot safer.

Ya I've been told the movie left out the specific details of how every tribute was killed. In the book it goes into more bloody, gorey details. But of course they wanted to keep it pg13. Which sucks imo. I think they should have kept the books more for the younger crowd by being easy to read, but the movie could have gone to another level with an r rating.

They really had to keep the character plot(s) quick and simple I agree, just simply worrying about the most important catnip/peeta , catnip/gale, relationships that are going to carry throughout the entire series. And simplifying the ones that last only one book/movie.
