sittin in the garage starin at the bike... winter in chicago sucks. cant wait for spring!!!! Anyone doing any sweet winter mods?

Yeah, Michigan isn't any better my friend. Spending my time and money on several mods for my XB12. Putting on a Hawk exhaust, EBR ECM, Clubman CR bars, new levers once I decide what to get, new tires, and the hidden Brembo rear brake mod. If winter lasts too long I'm going to be broke!

haha nice i still have stock exhaust because i havent heard one that i like yet. My xb12 is the only lightning ive ever seen on the road out here so i have nothing to compare it to. so this winter consisted of buying all new gear. Got me a Buell Mesh Jacket, alpinestar gloves, shift kicker boots, new helmet visor, and i still have to buy mirrors and luggage. This winter is gonna make me broke as well haha.

oh and quick question to anyone who reads this. i want to upgrade to a new better air filter. any suggestions? i dont want to mess with the ecm just yet. i have a 05 xb12scg.

Just got a butt-load of snow again this morning. Waiting on a GB exhaust. Also been eyeballing new handlebars.

Trying to keep out of the hidden Brembo rear brake mod. Must resist. But, it does look good (what you can't see, I guess).

your a stronger man than me....although i just bought the bracket, I think I'm just going to store it until next winter and do it next year....and wait till i save up some $$$to buy the brembo caliper itself during the summer

I bought, 07 air box, new Rizoma Track-77 LED Turn Signal, a right side scoop, and some silver stars for head lights.

im trying to stay sane. i find myself getting very irritable with people a lot lately. as for mods, if i can ever find a reasonable person to tig weld my s seat rails, im converting my ss tail to an s tail. i also just picked up and extended transparent blue flyscreen. i like the angry eyes look but hat how the guages show, so i bought the extended one with the intent to chop it up to give it the angry eyes look but sit stock height with the guages. kinda pricy just to go cutting up lol.

i already mounted my gps, just gotta wire it up.

that and repainting the wife's ninja

i agree. my bike was my get away haha. I have been thinking about painting my tail black... but im not sure yet because i have no idea what kind of paint to use. i want quality. but for now the air filter is on my mind and gotta buy luggage. so the only good thing about having $1.50 left in my bank account is i have to hold out unwillingly on the mods [smirk]

i also want to do the right side air scoop. anyone know how much of a pain it is to install one? does it actually help bring in more air? or is it just for looks..

I used to live in Glendale heights, I HATED chicago winters

yea.. they suck.. snow every week here, salt everywhere, not exactly motorcycle weather right now.

I live in central BC so I'm in the same boat. Loads of snow and a dwindeling bank account. Just bought my 07 XB12Ss in October and only got a few hundred km on it before I had to hide it away from the snow. So far I've don't the breather re-route, both head lights on, tail chop, rizoma zero 11 turn signals, and Oberon bar end mirrors. Pretty much all the standard mods. Hope we can all get back to riding asap and save a few bucks.

Haha, Chicago winter )
What do you say about Moscow winter? My last ride was in mid november & it was such a warm november. Hate even to think that next ride will be only in mid april. Actually it sucks.
On the other hand - if I started to do mods strictly from the time of my last ride - I have enought time to make a full sircle to come back to full stock )))
Anyway waiting for spring as always )))

Gtp where in Chicagoland are you located? I'm in lake bluff and ride to the city when it's warm enough. 03 9S. Yes it's really cold and shitty weather but surprisingly I have seen a bunch of people on their bikes cruising the highway.
