I’m new to the forum and I’m getting my first Buell.

Those front turn signals have piqued my interest. Are those a Buell part, or do you know what those are off of, or where they can be purchased? Great pic. Tollywood. If you're 5'-8", then the original owner in the pic. there, must of had his a$$ clear off the seat when he came to a stop. Although, as an experienced old racer, he's certainly quite good at hanging it out; right? You definitley scored a great bike. Have a great summer.

Those are likely front turn signals with the "extender piece" removed and reinstalled inside the front fairing/modules. I used to always ditch the front turn signals in place of another set of rear turn signals so they didnt stick out so far.
 
No offense taken. I’m familiar with the type of math that you described. I have been obsessively buying and selling guitars for years. Trust me, I know how to turn $5000 into $3000. :cool:

Thank you very much! The previous owner is such a cool guy. I emailed him the question about the front turn signals and I will let you guys know what he says.

I’m sorry but the man I bought the Uly from said that he does not remember how he modified the front turn signals. I did take a picture for you though.

Thanks for the challenge Shaughn. This is what I found from an old 2010 post. I haven't examined it yet, don't know if this will work for me or not.

"what i did was cut the threaded part off of the mounting tube. there isnt a ton of thread to work with but if you lock tite it in the signal light body and use the lock washer on the inside of the fairing it works perfectly....plus you dont have those big spacers stuck inside the fairing. just be careful not to wreck thee threads while cutting."

The center plastic spacer thing of the front TS just slides off the shaft, you'll see what I mean if you remove it. Stick the spacer behind the fairing to space the nut back to the threaded portion, or cut the shaft to remount it shorter :up:
Hint#1 Use a tubing cutter to cut the tube if you're worried about cutting the wires or don't want to remove the wires first. Bonus, you'll get a nice cut.
and Hint #2 If you thread the TS mounting nut on first, and then cut the threads, unthreading the nut will re-thread any wonky thread damage, that happened when cutting the threads, thus saving rethreading the threads with a thread maker:upset:

Or do what 34:19 likes and just put rear TS on the front.

I’ve had the Uly for two weeks and put over 500 miles on her. I really enjoy riding this bike. The clutch feels very light and effortless to engage. It’s a pretty quick bike and so light and nimble compared with my police Electra Glide. I went out yesterday with my wife for a 4 1/2 hour ride on the Electra Glide. It’s the first time that I have ridden it since I got the Uly. It felt strange at first to have forward controls and floorboards.

I had the engine oil and primary oil changed on the Uly so I feel better now. I don’t like to wonder if it’s due. The tires were new last year and the original owner only rode it twice since then, so they look great. He had the brakes done last year, too.

I am really glad that I found this forum. I’ve been reading some threads and the members are knowledgeable and helpful.

Well, you're certainly doing it right! Get some miles on her and figure out what you like or want to change. Motorcycles are happily configurable for controls, ride and comfort:eagerness:

The first time that I heard the Uly, I immediately knew what I need to change. The exhaust. One of the reasons I bought the Buell is to have that lumpy Harley rumble. My stock muffler sounds more like a moped. I am leaning toward getting the Drummer SS. I already have the EBR racing module installed.
 
Its just for looks. If you get a Drummer SS, you will also need to buy a bracket to attach a chin fairing.

If you send your stock muffler to Kevin, he will convert it to a Drummer and the stock fairing will attach up to it without an extra bracket.
 
I’ve been thinking that since the chin fairing is just decorative I will leave it off. The Drummer SS and my ceramic coated pipes will look so cool that I don’t want to hide them. At that point, the bike will basically be a naked adventure bike.
