you dont have to take the rear wheel off to change the belt. all you have to do in pull the pulley cover, the swingarm brace and the rear set off. so u need an allen wrench set and a torx bit. its easier if u loosen the axle but u dont have to

damn, you're right. well, just by a rule of thumb I always find a way to make it the biggest pain in the *ss imaginable

haha. luckily when my belt broke it didnt snap i just lost a bunch of teeth so i was able to limp it home

I had just gone around a turn and went to accelerate and I heard a pop. so I coasted to a parking spot on the side of the road. I looked back and sure enough it was laying in the road, I walked back and picked it up then pushed it to the visitor parking on the other side of the street. so all together I made it out of work, and rode from the science buildings to the visitor parking. lol

I'll bet those sportster ones are just the 7000 mile... 04 is when our belts have a recommended life of 25k.

i am going to keep one with me..... himmm what is the best way to storge this belt??

there is room under your airbox cover! we have open airbox conversions on ours, and keep a spare belt under there if we are on a trip. tools under the seat.

If you're a chubby guy, maybe you can lose the belt around your waist, I hear the bigger your buckle, the better it is for the sprockets.

Just sayin.

cowboy, I called them twice, they don't hold them in stock. for the sportster belt or our buell belts

thats friggin sad... buellin in NE is a bitch dillon's is prolly the biggest harley dealer in Nebraska and they dont even have a belt. I dont think frontier in lincoln has ever had an instock part for ne of my buells. I dont understand why the best machines harley has ever been associated with r treated like such a bastard child[mad]

to be fair they don't keep most of their stuff actually in stock unless it's for a new bike. they don't want to have to deal with stocking
