hi guys! can anyone pls. help me i can only use my uly for 15 mins. then it automatically shuts off, then i can only turn it on after another 15 mins. pls somebody help me fix this prob? thanks

Sounds like your bank angle sensor is acting up. Does it shut of when your riding it or just a idle. is it exactly 15 min every time or is it around 15 min give or take. Is it under warranty? Do you have a ecmspy cable?

Yeah, need more info. It shouldn't take 15mins. for a bank angle to reset. Need to know Year, mods, did it just start all of a sudden or after a lowside, etc.? We're all glad to help but can't yet.

Summary
CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES MAY HAVE A VIBRATION AT THE MOUNTING LOCATION OF THE BANK ANGLE SENSOR WHICH, IF COMBINED WITH THE MISROUTING OF VARIOUS WIRES THAT IMPINGE ON THE SENSOR OR ITS PIGTAIL, CAN COMPROMISE THE ISOLATION OF THE BANK ANGLE SENSOR.


Consequence
THIS MAY CREATE A FALSE 'TIP' SIGNAL AND CAUSE THE ENGINE TO QUIT RUNNING WHILE BEING DRIVEN, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.


Remedy
DEALERS WILL MOVE THE BANK ANGLE SENSOR FROM THE ORIGINAL LOCATION ON THE BATTERY TRAY TO A LOCATION ON THE SEAT LATCH. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 5, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT BUELL AT 1-414-343-8400.

its automatically shut off, the 15 mins. is just an estimated maybe around 10- 15 mins. then it will shut off and i need to wait for another 15 min. so that i can take my uly back home. yes it is under warranty but sad to say that i can't take it back to the dealer since i just imported it here at the philippines that's why your help is very important to me. thanks! i have an ecmspy but the spy detects no problem. . . don't know what to do? guys thanks for the help. . .

Turn off the bank angle sensor on ecmspy and see if the problem is still present. Make sure you turn it back on once you know so you dont make things worse during a wreck or hydro lock you motor after a tip over.

afterwards, i would like to know...
- what oil you are running?
- does your cooling fan start?
- did it ever?
- how hot is it over there now?
- still standard? (no mods?)

Is there a pressure relief valve for the gas tank?
Maybe that's blocked and vacuum in the tank is
creating problems for the fuel injections system?
Try opening the gas cap after it stops running, and
listen for a vacuum. Sounds suspicious if it goes
away after 15 min.

Sounds like it could also be a temp sensor. It may think (or actually be) over heating and it is shutting it down to prevent damage. I had my boat motor do this to me once and it was the temo sensor that had went out.
