I fail at wrenches

if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball!

Oberons came today. Installed them and they look great. Aside from not being able to see shit out of them while riding, they're perfect! ;o)

Did you ride much with those big lollypop mirrors? I couldn't see out of them because they vibrated so bad. Just a big blur. You actually get used to the bar ends after a while. I try and keep mine turned up into the highest position.

I didn't get much road time with the mickey mouse ears. I've only had the bike for a couple weeks. I have the oberons flipped under now - if I try to look in them while riding, my arm is directly in the way. ;o) Gonna flip them up and try that out tomorrow.

Pardon my apparent ignorance, but did you unscrew your mirrors, or disassemble them??

I don't understand why you would need two wrenches to take them off, and based on your picture, it looks like you left the base of the mirror in the mount.

Rhino,
You might want to follow my lead. I am done posting here because obviously blacksmith has no idea what is happening here.

This is my last attempt to help... I have been calm too long in this thread.

"That post in yellow is just what was there after unscrewing the mirror... I'm assuming that thing probably comes out too but I haven't tried to remove it yet. "

YOU SCREWED UP. THAT SHOULD NOT BE LEFT OVER IF YOU TOOK THE MIRRORS OFF CORRECTLY. TRY AGAIN.

It's not like he caused damage or anything, if it's the first time he's turning a wrench give him a break. Yeah he should have just unscrewed it at the base but who cares? That's the nice thing about threads, they go right back together :)

He gets it. Kinda. But even if he doesn't, isn't that kind of the whole point in a forum. To try and be helpful, exchange information etc.? Would you just stop posting here because "He doesn't get it" If he were working on something that could be life threatening during a ride?Take a deap breath.

This is why I like the Buell Forums. Typically not a whole lot of jack-asses (we have our few for sure) but When I was first getting into racing, I bought a CBR 600RR (used), I had joined a Honda CBR forum and was relentlessly ridiculed for my lack of knowledge about them. Those that did answer my questions would be dicks about it, and the rest just kinda pointed and laughed lol. Needless to say, didnt ask any more questions on there...just kinda lurked.

I'm relatively new here too. I too was cautious about certain posts. I DO feel to be a 'part' of this group....I DO understand we're NOT all genius's on here! I respect ANYONE with a willingness to learn and share with us! The jack-asses...well..they're there, I just try to TOTALLY ignore them!! I come from the performance/racing industry....I know how it is out there. It's sort of a shame really....I don't understand WHY some people feel they have to be like that aqfish....seems to be the norm of today's society. Used to be back in the day, (and I'm not THAT old! lol! ), that us 'motorheads' stuck together and helped each other. That is what I've seen here, for the most part. Let's try to be patient with those not as talented as us and learn from those who are MORE talented than us!!

There's always someone that knows less than you, and always someone that knows more.
