So far, I have K&N air filter, Exhaust, and race chip. Is there anything else I can do to increase power? I want to be able to keep up with R6, GSXR600, CBR600. thanks

just enjoy the bike that will never happen has nothing to do with horsepower its all rpm and the buell is not an rpm machine

What about the Rotary Conversion??;)
You could do a Big Bore Conversion, but it'll Cost you.
And it will surprise the Hell out of the Hornet's Nest when you hang with them.

LOL teh Nub... i just wanna know when someone puts a 100+ cube v-twin in... bigger the better!

you can go big cube probably cost an arm and leg .....to bad its not a harley frame get a S&S 110 motor 120 120 hp tq..still wont make it faster but will be a hell of a lot quicker to top mph

I haven't looked through it all, but believe big bore kits will make small gains for the amount of money invested. Honestly, I would have liked to have seen buell make a V4 engine for the 1125 R and CR. I know it doesn't go with the HD history and buell's V twin roots, but neither does the rotax. I personally don't mind getting away from the American V-twin because buell is all about innovation. If buell went V4 in a superbike, I think it would be very competitive with the rest of the liter bikes....

Our xb's will never be comparable to the sport bikes, if you are looking for that, it would be cheaper to just buy a 600rr or something. I bought my buell because it was different, sure more power and speed would be great, but do I really need it? I can get through the twisties pretty quick, I was probably faster on my CBR 600 F4, but I changed the gearing around on it so my powerband was perfect for the twistie roads I raced up. Granted, that bike had been laid down when I bought it and I was younger and more "fearless" as far as how hard I pushed that bike to it's limits, but I don't think there would be much difference if I were timed from bottom to the top of the knobs on either bike if I rode with the same intensity.

Dang, that was a nice life story rambling...

some need to check what they want...

buell isn't all about vtwin, it's about usable power and corners.
buell sticks to vtwins, because they produce more usable power (read: torque) @ lower rpm range.

if you want hp's, buy a jap...they'll have more than you can handle and the model after yours will have even more.

buell went to a new engine because of demand, environmental reasons and competition with other manufacturers.

a friend of mine has a previous model cbr and goes to the circuit atleast once a month during racing season...he can handle his bike, but he can't do a thing against me & the buell in the twisties and i have no circuit expierence at all.

i love my xb as is...i don't want a bike because i want to compete against others, i want one which i experience.

making your Buell go that much faster is like buying a butter knife and trying to make it filet fish. I say ride it for what its made to do, but that's just my opinion :) to each is own. good luck [up]

(maybe you love the look, sound, and innovation of Buells which made you get one but want the speed of jap bikes) understandable

Best mods for speed on the Buell will be a race school and the upgrad the suspension to a racetech or something similar and get it set up right for you. For straight line speed well the best mod for that will be to trade it for a 1125 or a jap bike.

No expert on any of this but don't a couple of the german companies make a smaller rear sprocket and larger front cog... heard that will make you go faster.... i know they do a super torque kit which reduces your top speed by 10% but from what i was told it will pull the front end up coming out of a turn if you're not careful.

The reduction kit is not a fabricated one it's simply the xb9 primary parts. But there is the aluminum version that reduce the weight

LeFox said it best......Buell,own the corners....not own the 1/4 mile....This bike was purpose built....to giddy up in the corners with useable grunt power, from a v-twin...I own an 08XB12 scg lightning.....most fun iv had on 2 wheels....Just like a cruiser is a cruiser a chopper is a chopper etc, a Buell is a Buell....Enjoy what you have,if you want more rpm squeel...go jap...they are a hoot too.... BUELLIGANS, keep it tween the ditches....

where did this buell owns the corners bullshit come from..from winning races against the big boys on a track.or hanging around the coffee shop and comming u with that saying....better rider owns the corners in the street....most storys i see here is left or right turns at 5 mph wobble then down...who buys a bike because the myth is it owns the corners

It comes from people that are mad they can't hang with 600cc sport bikes....
.....that we know is true...i can understand owning it because its different or you like the looks thats two good reasons...or the feel of low end torque OR ITS A AMERICAM MADE BIKE........ saying owning the corners is just so stupid.....i bought this bike so I can go around that corner at 55 mph instead OF 53 MPH... 50 hp 650 metrics own the corners if your racing around corners....you want to own a mans bike start talking like a man
