Im leaning more to the ebr out of those two...bevause they have an ecm set up for it. But I haven't counted out a keda 3 yet.

Orrrrrrr do a custom tune for your bike for about the same price as an EBR ECM. You'll get more juice out of your mods that way, and your bike will be happier for it. Obviously I'm biased, but I think the drop-in solutions are for lazy people that don't want to get the most out of their platform.

I guess the things you need to look at are cost, construction and what you're using it for. Is it just for looks? Both EBR's system and the Termi are very nice, as was the FMF full system.

If it's for weight, I guess the Termi is probably the lightest of them since it's mostly Ti. I think the initial part of the header is SS unless you pay extra for a full Ti system. Haven't seen any dyno charts on it, much less any reports about them.

For guaranteed performance, EBR's full system is obviously capable of making some huge numbers for power. On the 1190, 175+ rwhp. On an 1125, I've seen 155, but that was a built motor, timed cams, decked heads and running pretty high compression. It also blew up within 10 hours. I know the guy that has the motor/bike.

If it's a budget thing, then $550 for a pipe and another $305 for an ecm is pretty tough to beat for a hand built 304 SS pipe. Sure, there's cheaper pipes out there, but how many are hand built and perform as well? Do you really need 140+ hp at the wheel? Yeah, this one will do it. If you need 150+ hp, I'd go with a full system from EBR since it's proven to work.

I dont think thats it Octo. I dont know cause I have never taken ur class. But I dont know if I would even trust myself even after I had the knowledge. I would always be worried about grenading a motor. Its actually a piece of mind thing for me knowing that I have a proven tune in my bike and I know I can go out and flog on it all day long with no issues.

[up] Keda-Design FTW...i have never heard such great sound come from a handbuilt pipe built in someones garage!

The mid pipe is a mothertrucker to pull off! I don't have a stand which would certainly help. I can't break the midpipe loose from the headers. Been using WD-40, but the sucker is cemented on there. Anyone have any pointers?

That was my next thing. I put a rosebud tip on the end of the torch, so that ought to heat it up real good. That and a good ol 2x4 and hammer should break it loose.

Heat the mid pipe with a small torch. Should break free with a little heat.
That was cake once I got my ignorance out of the way, thanks!

Yup, 35 bucks I have sent mine back twice. Once when I did the CR gearing and then when I added Deans pipe. Their is a 11% difference in gearing. Makes a big difference when all u do is street.
And EBR said that a recalibration/reflash is $90? I wonder where the #35 went?

No problem, no such thing in most cases on this website.

I just sent mine in last week and it was 35 for the flash and shipping back. I am the original purchaser of the ECM. I think that is the key, if nitto were to send it in it would probably be 35 because he is the original purchaser. I dont know for sure just a guess. Good luck and imo it would be worth the 90 bucks anyway.

Just curious, but why do you say it's so worth it to reflash it? EBR told me that the only difference would be that the speedo is off a little due to the gearing, but nothing else. I Agree 100% about using a race ECM with an aftermarket exhaust, just curious as to what experience you've had.

Up, the ECM's have gone up in price since I bought mine also.
Yeah, they used to be $205 back when I bought mine I think. If that be the case, you think you could send the ECM off to EBR using my shipping address, Walter? I'll pay the extra $35 for it.

I can do that, but you will need to cover the shipping to EBR. Might want to call and confirm that it is indeed 35 for the flash and not 90.

Just my opinion nothing more than that. I just like all my stuff to be all in working order and correct but I am OCD like that. I would like to look down when I pass a cop and know how fast I was going that's all. Have fun, enjoy, and always remember greasey side down!:)

Thanks! I'll call EBR tomorrow and let you know what I find out.

$35 for the original owner up to one year after purchase. $95 for anything else.
Thanks, Dean! You didn't have to do that. I emailed EBR and havn't heard back from them yet. Maybe I'll get lucky and Walters ECM won't be a year old! All kinds of +1's to you on this thread, Dean.
