Yeah, at the last second I tried to turn into my buddy's driveway, dropped it on the right side at almost zero mph. Broke off the peg and about an inch of the brake lever as well as scuffed up the bar end mirror. Sprained my wrist but Ithink my pride hurts worse. My buddy let me borrow his truck to run home and get a passenger peg so I could ride it home. When I got back he had already sanded painted and re-installed my bar end mirror. You can't even tell it was messed up. I've already ordered a new set of pegs off ebay as well as a temporary set of chinese levers. Luckily it wasn't damaged anymore than it was.

I've dropped my first bike twice. Once at a stop and once so slow my speedo didn't register. Embarrassing.

I think my pride hurts worse.
Well don't let it. Like others state it has happened to the best of us,and the worse too. LOL
I dropped mine once at work and broke pretty much the same items.
Worse yet my back was already out and I had to ask a female co-worker to help me pick it up. [mad]

^yeah, I'm getting over it... and besides, my wrist is hurting WAY MORE than my pride now. Taking motrin and icing it down but that isn't helping, hoping a trip to the E.R. isn't necessary.

hopefully you didnt break your scaphoid bone in your wrist. im guessing you landed on your palm with your arm stretched out. foosh is what the medical field calls it (falling on out stretched hand)

if you have health insurance you should go and get an xray just in case. when i had that happen they were pushing all over my wrist and it only hurt when i moved it so they didnt think it was broken...the x rays proved otherwise. i fell screwing around in the ice arena. and by fell i mean i was flying over the ice first and then landed on my wrist but maybe the extra weight of a motorcycle would be enough.

Mine fell over while idling in my driveway yesterday morning. Broke the same stuff plus bent my shifter. I was pissed and when I went to pick it up I honked the horn a few times. I'm sure my neighbors liked that at 4 am.

knocked mine off the jack/rear stand just a little while ago. I'd always wondered how in the hell people say they knocked on off a stand... now I know.

Thanks guys, the ''me too'' stories are definitely making me feel better about myself. My plan is to try and make it through the night and if it's still hurtin me this bad in the morning I'll stop by the ER and have it looked at.

I thought my kick stand was down recently and almost dropped it while straddling it?!?!? Caught it in the nic of time.

ill trade you a right peg for a left if there the stock 1" drop lightening pegs,

Cherry always seems to drop it on the left.. [sad]

Maybe it is just me at 6'2" 210lbs, but I ALMOST dropped my bike while attempting to ride it up an icy hill. Rear end slid out, and it fell on the side. Never hit the ground, it either landed on my leg or it never hit the ground before I caught it. No damage. It is not smart, but I believe in any 0 MPH situation I would sacrifice my legs before letting the bike hit. Not sure how people drop bikes at slow speed. It is easy to manhandle these bikes.

The first day I brought my first bike home my buddy sat on it and dropped it when he got off of it, i was pissed.

Dropped my buell about three months after I bought it while letting it idle also, bent clutch lever and because it was in front of my small shed it broke one of the headlight bezels,on one of my earlier bikes I also was at a stop and dropped it since I didn't get my foot down quickly enough to not fall over.:D

It does happen, it has happened to all of us. We try to be as careful as we can to avoid it. But hey these vehicles have two wheels and don't hold themselves up. Take care of your hand, most importantly.

Well the x-rays didn't show any breaks or dislocation but they said a scaphoid break may not show right away. They put a splint on it and sent me on my way with a few percosets for the pain. Have to follow up with an orthopedic dr sometime this week.
