I'm grounded

Wow. That is an interesting concept. On some special applications (as mentioned), I could see it. I can't see it on on the street for the typical type of riding on our Buells.

Well, it ain't happening this time around! New tire will be here next week. And this time, I'm having the shop mount it. But I've already told DH that I want to learn how to do my own tires. While I don't mind getting my hands dirty, I'll have to admit that I don't really like to get them greasy. But, if I have to wait for him, it won't get done as quickly.

Right now, I don't have the time. I have too much I'm trying to get caught up on. But next time....[cool]

Time is money. And money is time. And the next time you do them yourself, wear gloves like the guy in the video did.:)

Well, the new tire is on. I can feel a difference in how the bike is handling w/this tire as compared to what I had B4. This tire is supposed to last longer, so we'll see.

Oh, and it was only $25 to have the shop change the tire. I told DH when I got tires last time that the guy charged too much and he didn't listen. If we had taken the bike in, it would have cost us $35 to have it changed. But even w/that, the total would have been under $150. Last year, he had both tires put on, and it was over $300! And this is a better tire.

Notice that video shows the front tire! Rear is damn near impossible by hand with little or no sidewall.

I change all my bikes tires at home, and they're both just as easy. Takes longer to get them off the bike than to mount the new tire, thats the easy part. Jacking the bike up and getting the tire off is always more of a pain. Tires are generally easy.
