In Shanghai for a month. Verry few "real" motorcycles

Stuck here in Shanghai for a month for work. The XB12Ss, with Hawk, I had would be an extreme head turner here. I have only seen one "real" motorcycle in 3.5weeks. A ton of electric scooters. About half as many gas powered scooters.
The car drivers here would scare the worst Mass-Hole drivers. The scooter drivers are worse than the bicycle couriers i any major US city. Traffic signals are treated like mere suggestions.I'm surprised I haven't seen a road pizza incident with one of them yet. Close. But no splat yet.
I'll happy when I get back home next week.

I walk from the hotel to the office. 1.1 miles. Have to be far more careful even walking.
I also swim 5km a day at a pool near the office. They swim as bad as the drive. No lane ropes. No rules. No etiquette either. One day I stopped at 50 instead of 100 laps after getting hit in the face for the second time..

I had to go to Shanghai a few years back for work and my Chinese coworkers said the government was basically eliminating motorcycles due to pollution.

Thats the way it is in most places around the world.

"Sportbikes" aren't really purchased that much outside of the US and Europe ( yes they are bought in other markets, but NOWHERE close to our market share)

Bikes made for the US market are cleaner than most cars sold in China. They take up far less space on the road too. I imagine outside Shanghai, the roads are better suited for sport bikes and cruising as it is for most US cities as well.
I'm heading back to my side of the pond tomorrow. Yahoo!
I also found a better place to swim and workout on my next trip. One of the drawbacks of working for a company based in China is travel a few times a year to China (it might be a plus if I were single).

Yes. With my Galaxy S4 and S4 Mini. S4 is my personal phone. Th mini is my work phone. (I also had to carry a china phone)
Next time I may bring my Nikon DSLR. But I sill managed to capture some nice shots with the camera in my phone.
