Do some more research, but I think you need the all of it (rear pulley, front pulley, and idler). And belt, of course. As far as the 12 or 9, they have different size rear pulleys for a different final ratio, so if you want to keep the same ratio, then get one off the same bike you have. If you have a 9 and get a 12 pulley, it will cruise at a lower rpm on the highway, but will accelerate slower and probably feel sluggish. If you have a 12 and get a 9 pulley, you will cruise at a higher rpm on the highway and have faster acceleration.
