Inside of a drummer muffler

Randy told me that he does not use any packing in the mufflers. I certainly can't see any in through the exits.

Who wants to see inside the Pro series pipe?

I have been wanting to see the inside of buell race muffler since I bought my buell. cant find any pics inside one any where.

some one needs to post some, surely someone has a race muffler thats crashed beyond repair , if anyone does , just cut it open and show us. i would not want someone cutting up a good one though.

Im pretty sure its very similar to those pics above. Apparently there are two perforated 'petitions' where the jacking points are and perforated tube surrounded by stainless (or similar) packing in the middle section. I came across it on Buellitin Board yesterday.

indy, I have tried to follow that pic but I get lost. I thought I had it one time but I must have forgotten. It reminds me of one of those stereogram pictures with the dots, "Oh, I got it, now I've lost it."

All indy's diagram does is shortens the loop leaving less unbaffled back pressure.

Just curious if anyone has the dimensions of the tubes in the muffler, id or od. Working on my own design also utilizing something like this

I'll see if I can get my hands on the factory race muffler diagrams or something, worse case is I'm sure I know someone that has general knowledge of what is inside

I've been told the Buell factory race muffler is basically straight pipes with some packing

Wow, if that's what people do for $450 and up? Hmmmm... Oh and I would bet the packing is "stainless" steel wool not just steel wool. I could be mistaken though.

He uses steel wool not fiber glass.

I talked to Randy just last week and he stated that he does not use packing. He uses baffles.
