So I recently changed the oil on my Buell with the Harley Davidson oil and it's running different. When the bike warms up after awhile my oil light will come on and the chain or something starts getting really loud. The bike sounds different too out the exhaust and the rpms stay high when you come to a stop they don't drop all the way. But it goes away and runs normal again and then will come back randomly and the light comes on. The belt tension is right 1/4" movement cold but I'm just confused on what it could be or what to do. I'm thinking on going back to mobile 1 v twin oil and seeing how it runs. I've ridden the bike like this for awhile and it hasn't gotten worse or better. Any help or suggestions would be great

Have you checked that your oil level is correct? Did you fill the filter? Did you change filter brands?
Things may sound different with one brand of oil or another but I think that might be your mind playing tricks on you. Seriously, I have no idea about the engine noise unless you can be real specific.
And I think your idle issue is an intake leak. That usually causes the idle rpms to hang around 2k when coming to a stop.
Do a google search on how to test for intake leak. There are a few good how to vids out there.

Just spray carb cleaner around intake seals if idle changes their is your problem.
Yes just changed my oil again and went back to mobile 1 and road it. Wonder if that could have any affect on the bike. And thanks for the advice I'll check the intake seals.

what filter brand did you change to? All filters are not created equal. They may even have the same level of filtration in microns but flow rate be very different.

you have an oil pressure problem that needs addressed immediately. i would NOT continue to ride it until properly diagnosed and necessary repairs made. you are stating the "oil light" comes on. keep in mind this is NOT a maintenance required light....nor a temp light....nor a level light....nor an "add oil" light....it is pressure. below approx. 10psi and it activates when the switch is in proper working order. if it activates to on and you subsequently hear the motor emitting previously unheard racket...it lost oil pressure which is typically terminal. you can experiment with removing a questionable quality filter and installing a genuine H-D filter or Wix and try again but in all likelihood a faulty filter is not the problem. assuming your oil is correct viscosity and a filled to capacity, your lack of pressure problem lies elsewhere.
Switched to a wix and it still didn't fix it. I think I figured out my high idle which is my intake seals bad. Plus the cylinders are getting hotter then normal cause it's running lean. I'm almost positive it's my oil sending unit....either the connection or sensor is failing because if it was the oil pump or gear my oil pressure would be low all the time.

not necessarily. sure-fire test is to remove oil pressure sending unit...install barb or fitting that attaches to accurate pressure gauge and see what you really have there at that port. OR remove pump and peer inside the cam cover housing and inspect driver and driven gears. driver inside....driven on pump.
I agree with Lunatic, wouldn't ride that thing 10 feet. Figure out how to get the oil pressure test done asap. a fitting, some hose and a gage, even a cheap one. So long as the range is appropriate as in it doesnt go up to 300 psi. You need a gage that tops out at 25 to 50 psi max. Re-read Lunatics post. You could trash your entire motor without oil pressure. Don't ride it!!
